John Adams

Have any of you caught the first two parts since it premiered this past Sunday? I had recorded it on my DVR and just watched the 2nd part where it ended with the Continental Congress voting in support of the Declaration of Independence and the first public reading of it.

If you have HBO, I highly recommend watching it. Repeats of the first two parts have been playing all week. Tom Hanks has done another great job of taking a historical event and really bringing out the "humanity" in it. Though it is mostly about John Adams' character, so far it has been more of a historical look at the events leading up to the Declaration of independence and not so much about one character. They really did a good job getting into the early politics of the Continental Congress and the speeches that were made to persuade a unanimous decision by all 13 colonies, especially showing the passion of John Adams as he sways the undecided colony delegates towards declaring independence.
