OT Sullin Commits to Auburn

At this point, AU has tons of scholarships to give, so they can afford to take a few sleepers. As of right now, we have 20 commits- 3 enrolled early, and thus won't count towards the 25 who enroll in the fall; Tyler Knight will be at prep school or JUCO. That puts us at 16 if everyone makes it. We can enroll 25 and definitely need to, because this team is very short on depth after this offseason's departures. With news that Malzahn is visiting Randle, they are obviously still working on the big ones. The top recruits will come with time, but now, depth is a very pressing issue at almost every position.

Well, we're not. He managed to hang on to existing "name" guys like Nick Fairley, Eltoro Freeman, Jamontay Pilson, Terrance Coleman, Onterrio McCalebb and Philip Lutzenkirchen who were all to various degrees wavering in the commits when CTT got canned. Depending on which recruiting service you like, that's a 5-star, four 4-stars and a 3-star with offers from the likes of Florida, FSU, Alabama, Clemson, Ole Miss, Miami, Tennessee, Arkansas and others.

Other recruits of ours have offers from Michigan, Oklahoma St., NC State, Virginia, Kentucky and Miss. State. If Chizik manages to keep those guys committed and adds a guy here or there that's a 3-star and has lesser offers, how is that building a recruiting class on sleepers? Did you expect him to come in with two months to recruit and just start over from scratch or be able to get in on the biggest prospects when other schools and staffs have been working on them for 2 years or more?

And all of that is beside the point that even if a kid doesn't jazz you, there's no reason to down him or pop in to every thread about a commit to post your snotty boilerplate "all-narcoleptic" team comment.

I don't see how some people even get through the day, as bad as life seems. Buck up, it all works out in the end.

Have a mug and enjoy!

How so? We're looking down our noses at 3-star guys now? Not to mention he's 6-5, 338 and has a 3.5 GPA so he's no dummy and shouldn't be an academic problem.

You need to quit sucking so many lemons.

and he had offers from whom?

And it matters, why?

So that we don't finish 4th in the SEC West.

No, no, no. I think you misunderstood me. Just because a player has offers from every huge school in the nation, he necessarily is not better than a player with offers only from smaller college. Sure, he probably is, but not always. There are too many guys in the NFL that have played for smaller colleges, for that not to be the case.
