AUBURN, Alabama -- This year's Pro Day at Auburn won't have the star power that Cam Newton and Nick Fairley brought to last year's event, but this group of hopefuls will nonetheless be looking to impress scouts Tuesday.

Two players who attended the NFL Combine -- offensive lineman Brandon Mosley and snapper Josh Harris -- will try to impress again. Others from the 2011 Tigers scheduled to participate are quarterback Barrett Trotter, linebacker Eltoro Freeman, defensive back Neiko Thorpe, wide receiver Quindarius Carr, wide receiver Jay Wisner and place-kicker Chandler Brooks.

Trotter, the only underclassman, decided to skip his senior season. He went out on a high note by coming off the bench to lead Auburn past Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on New Year's Eve.

Two players who last played in 2010 -- place-kicker Wes Byrum and running back Eric Smith -- are also scheduled to participate.

Byrum's last football play was the biggest of all. His game-winning field goal as time expired propelled Auburn to a 22-19 win over Oregon in the BCS national championship game to end the 2010 season.

Smith was dismissed from the team last June for violation of team rules, a move that cost him his senior season.

Wonder why Eric Smith is getting a shot on Pro Day?

I guess the same reason Saban is letting Robbie Green come back. They know the kid needs his shot, and are nice enough to let them try.

Saban should have used some of that "nice" on Darius Philon. Processing 'em before they are even part of the Process is $aban at his finest.

Am I the only one that thinks it's weird that Trotter posted faster 40 times than Eric Smith?

Think about the games you saw them in. Trotter was pretty fast, Smith just kind of lumbered around and caught short passes, he never showed speed. I'm surprised there isn't even more difference in their times.

I think Eric Smith blew a golden opportunity, 246lb??? Did they just tell him that he would be allowed to participate an hour beforehand?

I still think that Freeman will play on Sundays, in some capacity. The sum of Freeman is more than any stat at a workout. WDE.

 @ the "an hour before hand", I was thinking the same thing. 4.96 is...lets just say it's an underwhelming time.

Why is that shocking? He was listed at 240 as a junior. He'll be a full back, not a tail back.

He was a RB that became a FB because of his weight... 13 reps on the bench??? 5'9" 246lbs/13 reps/4.96 probably wont cut it in the NFL...

Eltoro looked like a stud in that video. 28 reps on the bench was pretty strong.
