Sand Mountain Auburn Basketball History!

Recommended Posts

My first time to post on the site. I realy enjoy reading the news while on the road driving my semi truck. I'm from Sand Mountain and came across this article on the Last Basket At Beard-Eaves. Was taken by Wallace Tinker. Here is link to article. It was in the telephone coop magazine. War Eagle to everyone

Great article; I was at that first game when Wally scored. Pistol Pete was amazing but Auburn played as a team and won. Where on Sand Mtn are you from trucker? That Pisgah/ Section area was one hotbed of high school basketball for years and still is I think. I have family on and from that wonderful part of the world. Be safe truckin and glad to have you on this site.

Great post and story trucker!! I have a few buddies from Pisgah/Section area on sand mountain an everytime we start talking about auburn basketball he can't help but to mention Tinker and pistol pete. He's a bammer fan as most are from that area but I think he has a soft spot for Auburn basketball just because of that connection with his home town. Anyway, welcome, and be careful driving and reading!! lol
