Heard on NPR newscast this past weekend, he was everybody's something in South-side Chicago.

Thanks to you (and BigBens*), I had a face to put on the report.

Sorry, similar problem here.

Got better on my albums but didn't find them on Youtube.

ETA - seemed like a timely song, however.

Excellent Song. Powerful in its simplicity.

Covers vary greatly on where to channel it.

Hope a cursory excursion down that rabbit hole is OK:

Probably biggest (in terms of radio time):

Jeff Beck also took a shot, but not quite as good.

This was the version I was raised on.

David Lemieux, Grateful Dead archivist and Light producer, calls this "Morning Dew" take "quite possibly one of the Grateful Dead's best-ever live performances," with the septet line-up – Jerry Garcia, Donna Jean Godchaux, Keith Godchaux, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir – "singularly focused on achieving the cathartic, frenzied release of the climax of this song."

Thank You Sir.

When I saw you on my notifications list, I was frankly afeared you were gonna throw Pantera at me.

Nice piece.

The beauty of music. Something for every occasion.

I'm as likely to spin the Five Stairsteps as I am Pantera, and have often done so while feeling not entirely dissimilar emotions.

"Ooh Child" is one of my favorite TAB covers.

Might (?) be considered a recent* "Variation on a Theme by Glenn Campbell" (By the time I get to Phoenix).

*If this wasn't the last album I acquired in LP format, it"s close.
