Abdi has a long rap sheet. According to court records, he was convicted of trespassing in 2003, disorderly conduct in 2003 and public urination in 2012.

Several other previous charges against Abdi have been dismissed. In 2011, he was charged with two counts of fifth-degree assault and one count of disorderly conduct, which were all dismissed after he was found incompetent to stand trial, according to court records.

The court dismissed another fifth-degree assault charge in 2010 citing “mental deficiency.”

In 2002, a fifth-degree assault charge against Abdi was dismissed. And, last year, a lurking charge against him was also tossed out of court.

Refugee resettlement watchdog Ann Corcoran, who has followed the refugee program closely since 2007, said in a case like this it is “pretty easy to figure out” that Abdi is an immigrant and yet no one in Minnesota is asking how he has managed to evade deportation with such a lengthy criminal record.

“Ahmed Hersi Abdi has a long criminal record. So, why wasn’t he deported?” she asks in her latest blog.

 

This man, or shell of a man, is not so much a Muslim as a failed ward of the state. He has been in court before because he is MENTALLY ILL. 

To blame his actions on being from Somalia or Muslim is crazy. HE IS FRICKIN MENTALLY ILL. DIAGNOSED SEVERAL TIMES AS SUCH.

Have to agree. This guy was found not stable enough to stand trial but is out walking the streets. This isn't a race/religion thing, this is an unstable individual that should of been institutionalized.

Let me go for the double facepalm with a down vote........how has this guy had 16 years of run ins with the police and not been shot yet?

Seriously though, these people of all races/religions are walking our streets. Mental health is an issue that needs more attention in the United States.

Yes you can! You see it ALL the time! It sounds like you are saying that Abdi's professed faith has nothing to do with his crime though the blog-writer says it does. I agree with you. Does Corcoran's professed faith have anything to do with her lies in her 2015 blog that you posted?

Probably. Abdul is just a random victim here. Leaving out that he was prescribed mentally ill numerous times is just about criminal. Someone just perusing that article would definitively have the wrong idea.
