Over davis no but I think he has the other spot....overall good list....only other thing is the combo of blackson wright and bradley could go either way depending on the week and the same goes for de....I don't see lawson starting at game one but by seasons end maybe

I agree with you on the DTs I think Bradley will be motivated and I think he will beat out Blackson. but we will have 4 guys running in and out at that spot.

I think Lawson ends up with starter numbers... He might not be on the screen as the starter on day 1 but he will be by the end of the year.

I am shocked no one threw more of a fit over Mackenro Alexander...

His size is fine for a saftey 6'2 195-200 range in weight. The whole defense gave up after 1 qtr of Texas A & M thru Alabama to be honest not just him except Daren Bates.

I think our Safeties are weak. I think Therezie should move back and I think he should start at Safety. But unless I am wrong he is still at corner.

I could be wrong they could be motivated, I hope I am wrong...

That's bc no one has really proved themselves....McNeal has ok numbers but I haven't been all that impressed. ...at this points its open game and add to the fact that safety is one position you can put a freshman at and still have success

If you are refering to Demetruce McNeal... He is nowhere near 200lbs!

Again, don't believe the media guides. He is only 170-175lbs. He is WAY undersized for a SEC safety (especially for EJ's defense)...

It's ok for someone to be weak and undersized, but when you play with no effort or heart... you're not gonna play. I'm pretty confident that Ellis will not stand for that this year! (Anybody for that matter)

I don't see Justin Garret being a very good fit for the LB position in this defense, but other than that i'd say this is a pretty good guess as to how things will shake out. I'd have Flowers and Cass as my starting LBs.

I project I lot of new starters. Could be wrong, of course.

QB--Jonathan Wallace/Kiehl Frazier

RB--Tre Mason

HB--Jay Prosch

X receiver--Ricardo Louis/Quan Bray

Y receiver--Sammie Coates

TE--CJ Uzomah

Off. tackle--Greg Robinson/Jordan Diamond

Off. tackle--Avery Young

Guard--Chad Slade/Devonte Danzey

Guard--Jordan Diamond/Greg Robinson

Center--Devonte Danzey/Reece Dismukes

End--Dee Ford

End--Carl Lawson/Nosa Eguae

Def. tackle--Jeffrey Whitaker/Gabe Wright

Def. tackle--Ben Bradley/Angelo Blackson

Linebacker--Jake Holland/Cassanova McKinzy

Linebacker--Cassanova McKinzy/Kris Frost/Kenny Flowers

Corner--Chris Davis

Corner--Joshua Holsey

Safety--Enrique Florence

Safety--Jermaine Whitehead

Talon--Kris Frost/JUCO/Javierre Mitchell

K--Cody Parkey

P--Steven Clark

Just for fun I thought we would play "Agree/Disagree". Blue=Agree Red=Disagree/Orange=Correction Lime=Possible/Possible Teal=Agree more than disagree for now

We will have to check back every so often and see. Really though outside of Dismukes all of yours are possible as well though.

Ya I think our starting DTs are Blackson and Wright. I've seen Bradley on campus and he is not that physically impressive to me. Gabe looks a little more athletic; and there is no way Ben is more athletic than Blackson. But you never know looks aren't everything on the football field.

I think it's going to be a lot harder for some of these newcomer JUCO's to get into the playing rotation than others seem to think. Unless every recruiting analyst on the planet was dead wrong, we've got talented depth at nearly every position.

If our new coaching staff can develop that talent we're good to go. If they can't, we're in deep doo-doo and a few JUCO guys won't make much difference.

Why is Whitaker above Blackson on the depth chart? Just curious.

@AUBlog EJ on DTs: "Jeff Whitaker has been the most consistent tackle. He's kind of moved up to No. 1." 3-man rotation w/ Whitaker/Blackson/Wright. - Link

Two points:

Frazier and Wallace are having mediocre springs, at best (although I absolutely love their attitudes and the hard work they put in). If Nick Marshall does not start at QB, we are looking at another very, very long season.

Additionally, some people believe that Lawson and Adams will start from day one. When you look at the track records of superbly talented players (such as Cadillac at Auburn or Clowney at South Carolina), one usually finds a second/third string player at the beginning of the season that then begins to put up great performances at the end of the season. Hopefully, this will be the path for them.

^^^^I pretty much agree with both of those two points above. ^^^^^ I hope the JUCO LB Flowers also has the talent to work into a starting role early.
