Gus Malzahn: "Last day of fall camp. ... Looking back, I felt like we did improve, we covered all our situations, evaluated."

...

Malzahn says he's close to a starting offensive line. 7 guys have been mixing and matching.

...

Malzahn: "Any time you have injuries, that's opportunities for other guys."

...

Malzahn says defensive lineman Tyler Nero is day-to-day.

@JoelAEricksonAU

Gus Malzahn: "I thought it was a good one. Told our offense it was the best rhythm that we had since I've been back."

...

Malzahn on Justin Garrett: "I hope he's close. Didn't practice today. We're hoping to get him back by next week."

...

Garrett has been out for approx 10 practices at this point, Ellis Johnson had said it was precautious

...

Malzahn says practice Thursday, Friday, possibly Satuday

@JamesCrepea

Malzahn said seven players are mixing and matching on offensive line. By Sunday, he said starting five (OL) will be decided.

...

Malzahn on thoughts about QB Nick Marshall during recruiting process: "We thought that he was a definite playmaker."

...

Malzahn: "We're pretty much all full force into Washington State." Camp's done. Opener up ahead.

...

Malzahn said he'd already decided Johnathan Ford would play special teams, so no redshirt for him.

...

Malzahn said freshman receiver Tony Stevens was able to practice today. Stevens missed time in camp with hamstring injury.

...

Malzahn said there was some 11 vs. 11 today: "Even though you're game-planning for an opponent, you still have to do the fast-ball stuff."

@AUBlog

Malzahn said they "have more depth" on the offensive line than he can remember in past years.

...

Malzahn said Washington State's offense isn't similar to what Auburn runs at all. He says Tigers are run-first, Cougars are pass-first.

...

Malzahn on Johnathan Ford: "He's a phenomenal running back, but we needed help" in the secondary.

@wareagleextra

On Nick Marshall: he has seemed more urgent and taken more of a leadership role since he was named the starter, per Malzahn.

...

Regarding the WRs: the staff is getting close to narrowing down the corp to two-deep at each position.

@gnunnelley

Malzahn said the receivers had one of their better days of fall camp today.

Why is it called Fall camp but is over before August ends?

What is tomorrow's practice called since today was the last of camp?

Cassanova McKinzy said Johnathan Ford had 3 INTs vs scout team, said Rudy is quick on his feet

@JamesCrepea

Cassanova McKinzy's enjoying the WLB spot, he's freed up to make plays from the MLB spot. Says Jake Holland's been the most consistent LB.

...

Auburn weakside backer Cassanova McKinzy said he dropped from 254 this summer, to 241 right now.

Fall camp is all football, no college classes. Auburn starts class tomorrow, so tomorrows practice will just be called practice.

@AUBlog

Angelo Blackson said the main difference in the DTs from last year is leadership. Credits Jeffrey Whitaker for leading the charge.

Sounds like Tuberville could be great

? NOT SURE IF SERIOUS.... He's on the scout team and apparently threw 3 ints to Ford

The term "great" in Swahili translated to English literally means "scout team practice QB wanting to someday be a football coach" if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure that's what DTR meant.

Could be if WSU'S QB threw 5-7 INTs in season opener. We'll see.

Well he's making the D feel good, so he's at least a team player.

( :) ... as opposed to a-team player)

Wow. Ms Crumpton asked about 3 or 4 question in that vid and then ended the interview. Does she actually get paid? Geez. She even asked what the focus was heading into the last few days of camp. Assuming this interview was after practice today, fall camp was already over. Thats top notch reporting right there.....
