Can't say I feel sorry for him

A national college football reporter who has spent the last 11 years at ESPN will no longer be with the company.

According to Sports Illustrated, Joe Schad won’t be with the network this fall after a lengthy tenure that saw him join ESPN in 2005.

Among other platforms, Schad served on College GameDay, College Football Live, SportsCenter and ESPN.com during his time there. Schad was also a sideline reporter for national championship games.

The news regarding Schad comes not long after Robert Smith also revealed in January that his own 11-year run with the company was also coming to an end.

It was made public that ESPN went through significant cuts in October of 2015 in which 300-plus employees were laid off. SportsBusiness Journal and many others speculated that the layoffs were due to skyrocketing rights fees, deep distribution cuts and subscriber losses.

With that said, ESPN is still currently the sports media giant as the network is in 92 million homes and earns a hefty $6.50 per subscriber every month. Meanwhile, many of the biggest sports leagues and events are still under contract with the company.

May he live on welfare and food stamps the rest of his life. Better yet, may he have to beg Cam for grocery money!

Maybe the ESPN budget cut will make them a bit stricter on the validity of what these people are reporting because they won't be able to afford to keep just anyone's innaccurate reporting

Good riddance. We don't need "reporters" who just make crap up and report it as fact trying to "get the scoop". Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

Been there done that for 25 cents per pound. If you don't know what your doing it will chew your hands up
