Changes In Football

No game today. I was thinking how our football game has changed over time. I can think of a bunch, but I'm sure you know some. Let's see how many we come up with.

I'll start. One platoon football. That means you play both ways - offense and defense! No Gatorade.

And not very much water either.

Kicking field goals and extra points with a holder instead of drop kicking.

Make the receivers have both feet in bounds like the NFL.  This would help with getting receivers ready for the NFL.  Also speed up the game so that offenses can have at least 85 plays per game.

Thread is about changes that have been made throughout the years, not what you want to change.

sorry....I still would love to see what I mention taken under consideration. Back to the changes that have happen. I would love to see schools have 90 scholarships instead of 85. For a good stretch of time, it seemed like the NCAA was doing their best to destroy college football with a lot of silly rules and regulations. Please do not ask me to list the rules and regs in that my mind is too weary tonight to do this. A fever of 103.5 does strange things to ones mind. Tamiflu is not working yet the way the doctor said it would. I have not had the flu in 34 years!

Feel better, Doc. A 103.5 degree fever is nothing to mess with.

2 hr 55 min game, sprinkle in some modern day commercialism and presto, same game in 4 hours....WITH the clock running on out of bounds plays, no less.

Players being able to use "stickum" on their hands to grip the ball better (Lester Hayes made it famous).

Head to head shots being legal.

350 yds of offense being a big game.

Runningbacks routinely being top 5 draft picks.
