Since the beginning I’ve stated that the Affordable Care Act or “Healthcare Reform” did nothing to truly make care affordable and was really just Health Insurance Reform. ACA didn’t address actual Rx costs or actual medical service costs.

Most Americans have health coverage through their jobs, but that doesn’t mean they are better off when it comes to spending for their care, according to a five-year analysis of billions of insurance claims by the nonprofit Health Care Cost Institute.

In a study published Tuesday, HCCI found that working Americans used less healthcare but paid more for it every year from 2012 to 2016 — mostly due to double-digit price hikes for brand-name prescription drugs, inpatient surgeries and emergency room visits.

Just thinking bout loud here but...could it be just the opposite is true? Could people be using less because it costs so much more?

Its costing more on two fronts. It cost more monthly in premiums but the actual services are costing more as well. Because they have less in pay they can’t afford the high dollar script or the high co-insurance on the procedure.
