ESPN.com asked their readers if Nick Saban would ever win a national championship at Bammer. 77% of the people who responded to the poll voted, No, Nick Saban would never win a national championship at Bammer. Only 23% of the people who responded to this poll voted, Yes, Nick Saban will eventually win a national championship at Bammer.

If you break it down by states, Alabama was the only state where the majority of voters thought Saban would eventually win a national championship at Bammer. The majority of voters in the other 49 states all thought Nick Saban would never win a national championship at Bammer. This poll proves people across the United States do not think nearly as highly of Bammers football prorgam as most Bammers would like to believe.

Uhhhh, you could have that poll for just about every coach in the country and get the same, or worse, results.

Winning a national title is not exactly common.

Then why are so many Alabama fans (based on message boards, talk radio, and media guys) so certain that Nick Saban will win a national title at Bammer in the next 5 years?

Well, they are the same geniuses who actually expect Saban to be there for the next five years! :big:

Because, according to bammerlogic and the new talking points coming out of the bammer nation, "Past performance is the best predictor of future success." Except if you have a pathetic past few years, just skip that and go back to the last time you did something good, and that is the best predictor of future success.

In other words, bammerlogic dictates that your last success, regardless of how long ago it happened, and NOT WHAT YOU DID YESTERDAY AND TODAY, is the best predictor of future success!

This is the key to understanding bammers. That is why they live in the past, and forget the present. In their minds, they are still the team they were in 1992, and Saban is still the coach he was at LSwho.

You should have said that unlike Auburn, people talk about us. Even when you have the upper hand, Alabama is always the one talked about, whether it's good or bad.

I think Auburn fans on this board look up more stuff online about Alabama than their own school.

Forbes is not a peer reviewed scholarly journal. It is a magazine.

The goal of a magazine is to sell magazines. There is no more rabid and idiotic fan base in the country than bammer, and right now was a brilliant time to release that magazine on the verge of 2008 kickoff, when bammers will buy them in droves. You are a fool if you think they published this article about Saban at this time because of anything other than they can get more of your Wal-Mart money out of your pocket right now.

Why in the heck do you think people are still writing books about Bear Bryant, as if there is anything new in them 25 years after his death? It's not because there is so much to TALK about...it's because you idiots keep buying them so people keep printing them.

I will write 10 articles about Saban if you will buy them.

congrats on being in the paper the most during the off season with your 10 arrests... Great publicity that we will gladly hand over to you. Congrats on having your mediocre coach on the cover of a magazine having nothing to do with his success (or lack of ) on the field. Congrats on him being labeled as the dictator that he is, I know you must be proud. Embrace it, sleep with the newspaper headlines of your precious mediocre program.

first of all, you have to be capable of actual thought to do this, which, judging from your posts you are not. Second, when we post here we like to have facts to back up our argument, you, know, the facts you uaters conveniently ignore when presented with them? Otherwise, we really don't think much about uat. uat is pretty much a has been. It usually takes one you uaters here to run off at the mouth like you usually do that begin the exchange. People like you, legionfield, birmingham, gridironfan, wincrimson, boygeorge(or whatever his name is) do the constant drive by insults and attacks that are rarely, if ever, part of the discussion at hand. Once again, congrats on filling the stereotype...

Yes, we're so obsessed with Bama that we spend time on their message boards. Just think about all that wasted time....you could have been clipping your toenails, cutting that growth off your dog's neck, putting a new coat of purple spray paint on the side of the trailer, or repairing the fightin' rooster pens. Instead, here you are telling Auburn folks what they should be saying about your third rate football program. YOU should be worrying about your impending ignominous defeat by Clemson. The PROCESS is about to implode. It's gonna be messy, and don't worry....there will be LOTS of press coverage.
