Recommended Posts

The Auburn baseball team will close out the month of

March on the road, traveling to Troy for a 6pm CT game on Wednesday at

Riddle-Pace Field.

Auburn is 17-7 overall and brings a SEC-best .344 team batting average

into the contest while Troy is 12-11 and hitting .332. Auburn’s

pitching staff brings a 4.77 ERA into Wednesday’s game, ninth in the

SEC, while Troy has a staff ERA of 5.59.

Auburn will send Fr. RHP Slade Smith (1-0, 3.09) to the mound while

Troy will start Jr. RHP Nick Ward (0-0, 9.49).

Following the Troy game, Auburn will return to SEC action this weekend

in Tuscaloosa. Game times for the Alabama series are 6pm on Friday, 4pm

on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday. Friday night’s game will air live on

CSS and ESPN360.com, which is a change from the originally released

television schedule that had Saturday’s game airing live on CSS.

This is another midweek game we definitely need to win.  Losing a lot of non-conference games has been another thing keeping us out of the NCAA tourney the last couple of years.

Not only that but we need to keep positive momentum going into a HUGE series with Alabama this weekend.  With our ERA going down, I hope we can keep it up!

^THIS^  The midweek games that we have lost to inferior teams have definitely hurt us.  They are way more important than they may seem.
