Frank Thomas is the man. My favorite player growing up and that was a decade before I even knew about Auburn.

Although I was a Mets fan I liked to follow Frank. His final year at Auburn I was in the 8th grade & moved from the outfield to 1st base. I had to sport #35 like The Big Hurt.

There is the story...and I think it's true .....that Thomas was such a feared hitter at AUburn that during a close ball game with Miss State (?) he was intentionally walked with the bases loaded. The MSU coach was willing to allow a runner to score on the walk, but the decision prevented Thomas from doing more damage by hitting the ball and perhaps clearing the bases. He was like Bo in some ways...physically ahead of his time.
