Poll, Who do you want to see replace CBH

There are two or three I would go for on the list and others not in the list. First thing any coach has to do is bring in an Line Coach or OC that can recruit decent linemen, condition them and teach them to block. A lot of Harsin’s problem is his OL sucks. Not being mean to the Lineman. T most were recruited by Gus who wanted fast instead of big. One thing good coaches like Kirby and Saban do is recruit,condition and train OLs. Even a QB like Georgia’s who was a walk-on look good behind a hood OL. My thoughts about Deion as I said before he would be a great promoter of AU. He would do well recruiting because young players like him. He would get good tv time because of his connections (that something that help Saban recruiting wise). He also could bring good coaches and have the confidence to Do what he felt best without regard to other folks opinions. His connection to folks like Jerry at Dallas will also benefit him. He just needs a good OL coach and use the portal and recruiting process to get sone talent here. Enough said .

To those who voted in this poll, do you stand by your choice? I voted Grimes initially but I have since, er, moved on. Prime would be my pick.

I ask because based on the results of this poll I would've expected the majority of the fanbase to be okay with Brother Hugh.

I initially went Grimes as well. Now I’d go Deion or Aranda. Anybody but Hugh!

Yeah, my opinion on Grimes changed when they got flattened by K State.

Interesting that we are still within the top 3 and people are screaming disaster. 
 

I also believe one of those 3 (Deion) was probably not a true contender due to relevant enough experience. 

I do think Deion would have been an exciting hire.

You have to take into account a few people post nonstop about Freeze. A lot of us who would like him see no sense in arguing on every post. Just seems pointless.

At this point I'm just holding my breath hoping we can actually close this one, because being the pessimist I am I can't see us landing someone better if this doesn't go through. I think it is painfully clear that our rivals/schedule are/is a major deterrent to coaching prospects.

That seems like one of the narratives and there is probably some merit. I’m could see Kiffin saying it’s a tougher job I want 2million more per year. At the same time I could see the money folks saying you know what there is no way he is worth 4million more per year than Freeze so let’s move on. Either is quite viable in my opinion and I’m not sure he’s worth a penny more than Freeze myself.

I agree. But I'm just preparing for Freeze to turn us down too (I have no inside info!). If that happens, we need to seriously evaluate if our beloved DSOR is worth it.

Of course, we may back out from Freeze. But if it was Kiffin who told us no, point stands.

Whether true or not, Freeze has been widely seen as the candidate who is most likely to take the job if offered. Obviously, anything can happen in a coaching search but it would be  a shock if he turned Auburn down.

I’m not interested in getting into posting links and such but I’m a bit surprised by what I found googling the prime prep scrutiny. I had no idea about that stuff. I would be a bit concerned about academic issues now if he were hired. 🤔

September was so long ago, lol.  I jumped off the HF train and onto the Deion train after that.  Never wanted Lane at all.  I then renounced HF as my #2 after seeing more of his background issues.

 

He was hired the next day, lol.
