2013 3* OG/C Khaliel Rodgers (USC signee)

Are we even in the game with him? He went to the same school as Blackson and has since transferred to a school in Maryland with his coach and a lot of other teammates (QB Sills and DE Bigelow). He is dominating at camps, but not as much in games.

How does the 102nd ranked player in the country and the #2 guard only have five offers? Strange.

Great article on KR from the VTO New Jersey camp this past week. Pretty much says that he hasn't been beaten in one-on-ones during a Rivals event. Currently his twitter pic is him sporting an Auburn hat. His Rivals account doesn't show an Auburn offer. Anyone have any Inside scoop on this talented OL?

He said today he down to a top 6...Connecticut, West Virginia, Ole Miss, Auburn, UCLA and Ohio State. He wants to go to Ohio State, Ole Miss, West Virginia and Auburn(will be his second visit) before he commits. He will commit on June 30th. Can someone in the know fill us in on this guy?

"Offensive guard Khaliel Rodgers from Eastern Christian Academy has a firm offer from Auburn and the Tigers would accept a commitment from him at any time. Rodgers is expected to visit Auburn within the next two weeks along with his teammate and Auburn commit, CB Jahmere Irvin-Sills. I think Auburn is in good shape for Rodgers."  Free from 247

Rivals is the only recruiting service that has him rated that highly. ESPN, scout, and 247 sports all have him ranked as a 3 star

For now....

Rivals is not the only one. The Ringer has him as a 4* and the #14 Guard in the nation. He has also committed to play in the US Army Bowl in January...LINK

like him or not Mike Farrell is usually pretty accurate with his picks as far as what school a player chooses and he tweeted this yesterday...

@rivalsmike

Irvin-Sills to #Auburn probably not the last Eastern Christian commit to the Tigers between now and LOI Day. Just sayin

Nice! As far as some of the major recruiting sites rating him lower than Rivals, I've always felt Rivals was stingiest with their stars--so IMO it means more from then to be a 4*.

Khaliel Rodgers (Rivals #1 Guard and #64 Overall) will be visiting AU this weekend with his teammate and newest AU commit Jahmere Irvin-Sills. If all goes well during the visit, as expected, the current teammates could be leaving as FUTURE teammates as well.  ;)

*Note: Rodgers has set an official "commitment date" of 6/30, so he may wait until then to announce his final decision. He recently listed his 6 finalists as Auburn, Ole Miss, Ohio State, UCLA, UCONN, and West Virginia.

On twitter BM quote him as saying "Auburn is a dream school". Paid article but you've got to love the quote.

It looks like we are going to find out pretty soon if he keeps that record in tact. Did you catch this little excerpt about Khaliel Rodgers in the Rivals article about Carl Lawson ? It is referencing the upcoming invitation only, " Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge " camp in Atlanta ?

" Mike Farrell's take "

" Lawson was outstanding at the Rivals.com/VTO Georgia Camp and he's always willing to compete,so he has a chance to dominate this camp. He's extremely powerful, plays with good leverage and is quick off the ball, so for offensive linemen to handle him they will need to get out of their stance quickly, kick slide fluidly and always have their feet working. Lawson's power against the power of Khaliel Rodgers, the nation's No. 1 guard and arguably the strongest player in the country, will be an amazing matchup.

I feel really, really good about Rodgers. Why wouldn't he come to AU? Since Sills committed, I personally feel like its all but a lock. I could be wrong though..

Yeah, on TOS they had a poster refer to Rodgers as having too much "baby fat".  I know we get some stupid posts on here, present company excluded, but some posts on some these other sites make my head hurt!!

I thought the same thing when I first saw his picture.  Just saying.  Obviously these recruiting guys have seen him in person and can actually attest to his level of fitness, but my first thought was that he would have to trim down a little.  That said, a lot of guards do when they first make it to college.

When is the Rivals VTO Georgia Camp?  TIA

The VTO Georgia camp already happened. It's the Rivals 5 * challenge that is coming up and it's June 22-24

Kind of reminds me of Eric Mack in the fitness department.  And I wouldn't take anything from whether Lawson beats him or not.  A guard should not be able to block a 5 star DE.

he DOES have an offer, regardless of what Rivals lists, from Auburn. IMO he is going to commit to us either at the end of the month during his scheduled announcement, or during his visit next weekend.

FYI, the Rivals analysts said that he is the strongest player in the 2013 class.
