Like I said, UM wasn't considered.  You missed the point that I was making.  AU is spending 10's of millions of $$$$$ on coaches that aren't taking AU forward.   HF will be no different.  We should be hiring coaches that actually have a winning record.  UM should have been considered.  In a few years this forum will be dedicated to the HF meltdown.

You may be right, and I have expressed my reservations about Freeze. But at this point don't, we pretty much know how everyone feels? Gosh let's give it a rest. I hope he kills it in his relationship with God , and his wife , and AU. But I'm a bit worn out with the negatives from the same posters. We'll fire him if he strays. Let's talk football.

I think many are disappointed in the hire. And some much more than that. It’s a lot to digest. However, I do think Freeze can get us back where we were with a maybe a few upsets of the elites along the way.  Achieving beyond that I have my doubts but hopefully we can at least heal and reunite the fan base.

At Ole Miss, Freeze's phone calls to escorts was the tiny tip of the iceberg. The man screwed over a lot of recruits and their families, flat out lying to them, pulling them into a horrible situation and getting the university to cover for him. It's hard to find perfect coaches, but few are as sleazy as Freeze was.

Does his time at ultra-religious Liberty and his claim of redemption absolve him. Well, that's a big MAYBE!

Will I support my University? Yes!

Will I support the players? Yes!

As for Freeze, I am cautious. I hope Auburn inserted a clause in his contract that even one major violation or legal accusations of misdeeds by him, his coaches or by inaction regarding players, will be grounds for immediate termination for cause, no buyout.

In terms of his ability to rebuild Auburn to competitiveness in the SEC and nationally, I sure would like to see that happen. He's, IMO, a better option than Harsin, but he was not on my wish list for our new HC.

Still, I'd sure like to see him build a great staff, recruit like a magician (without cheating), pull in great players from the portal,  coach them all up to their optimal capabilities. And I hope he can find an OC who can implement a more advanced offensive scheme that can actually be competitive in today's SEC.

My conclusion -- Supportive of my University and the players, wait-and-see about Freeze.

If he delivers, I will rejoice!

Not sure if you are aware of what UM allowed and covered up during his tenure in FL and OSU...for instance there was coverups of assault and they tried to cover up.  Many stories in Gainesville.  Also, there was a player at OSU that his S&T coach made him keep going until his thigh snapped and rolled up.  I cant find the video of it now but it came out post UM exit from OSU.  Oh and while at the Jags was doing stuff in public with a lady who wasn't his wife.  So I get the comparison.

Freeze may have been bad in calling an escort service and some of the other stuff that was started before he got there (boosters paying).  Just my take.

I really wanted to ask someone but the guys I see doing it, they get offended if you question them but I don't see the logic in complaining about all of these flaws in everybody just to now say hey what is asking questions and being negative going to accomplish. Or the completely made up this guy is a fraud but if someone brings to stuff that actually happened with this coach it's I'm glad people don't judge me for my past......you were literally judging another coach off of a hunch with no evidence......

This is the last I am saying about HF and his past transgressions. He absolutely did them, he absolutely got fired from Ole Miss and got them a rocks throw away from the death penalty, almost ruined his family all because of his choices he made . People still question him because of the DM recently. Why did he think that was okay? I get it, his family forgave him so why shouldn’t I, right? I don’t have a heaven of hell to put him in but Auburn is special to me, and care about her like family. I want what’s best for Auburn. I think we could have and should have done better. Talk is cheap, believe what you see not hear

Within a few hours of the press conference, we hit the "don't say anything negative about the coach, what does that accomplish?" stage. I come here to take a break from "accomplishing" things. This is an internet message board. 

I guess we learned nothing from Harsin and most people aren't in the mood for critical takes. I understand that on some level. Most just want to get excited about the new coach, no matter what. I'm going to need to shut up or only post things that have nothing to do with Freeze. It's not worth fighting 75% of the board.
