Auburn is set to be well-represented in the 37th annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic. Wide receivers Perry Thompsonand Bryce Cain, running back J'Marion Burnette, defensive lineman Malik Bloctonand defensive back Jayden Lewis were all selected to the Alabama roster, the AHSAA announced on Saturday.

The AHSACDA All-Star Selection Committee selected players earlier this week based on nominations from coaches.

Both Cain and Thompson have lit it up for Baker and Foley, respectively, in their senior seasons. Playing baseball growing up, the speedy Cain is in just his second year of football ever and has eclipsed all of his season stat totals from last year in just six games. Cain has 25 receptions for 654 yards and 10 touchdowns, also returning a kick for a touchdown in the first six games. After a win against Bryant on Friday night 35-6, Baker is 6-1 on the season.

Thompson, meanwhile, the coveted 5-star receiver who flipped from Alabama at Big Cat Weekend has 33 receptions for 466 yards and four touchdowns. He also has a passing touchdown, rushing touchdown and a defensive touchdown for his 3-3 Foley Lions.

Auburn's bruising running back commit returned to action on Friday night after missing several games nursing an ankle injury. Burnette had 30 carries for 157 yards and two touchdowns in the first three games, with the Bulldogs still undefeated and in search of a second-straight 4A state title.

The younger brother of Auburn standout defensive tackle Marcus Harris, Blocton has put together a strong season of his own at Pike Road with 45 tackles, seven quarterback hurries, six tackles for loss, two sacks and a fumble recovery with his team now 4-2.

Full stats are not available for Lewis' senior season, but he's helped lead his team to a 4-3 record, playing on both sides of the ball and on special teams.

This year's game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Dec. 16th on Southern Miss' campus.

Auburn targets on the roster include Alabama commits Jaylen Mbakwe and Jeremiah Beaman, linebacker Bradley Shaw, kicker Towns McGough, Miami running back commit Kevin Riley and Texas A&M wide receiver commit Cameron Coleman. Auburn defensive line targets Jamonta Waller and Kamarion Franklin are both on the Mississippi roster.

The 2022 game had five Auburn players on the roster in JC Hart, Jeremiah Cobb, Sylvester Smith, Keldric Faulk and Bradyn Joiner.

5-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick, Top247 edge rusher Joseph Phillips, 4-star receiver Malcolm Simmons and 3-star linebacker D'Angelo "DJ" Barber were not selected, but will have a chance to play in the North-South Alabama All-Star Game.

I’m excited to go to this game this year!!!   My coach and 2 of our players will be representing the MS defense.   They have an incredible task ahead trying to slow all that talent on the AL offense!!!
