@ellitori don't know about you, but the class of 2924 is a bit too far away for me to be interested (psst... in the title)

That gives the University of Auburn too much time to flip him!

In-state DB Kaleb Harris commits to Auburn

The Thompson (Ala.) defensive back is joining Auburn's 2024 class.

It didn't take long for Auburn to land Kaleb Harris after going all-in. The Thompson (Ala.) defensive back committed to Auburn on Monday shortly after his visit for the Ole Miss game, joining Auburn's 2024 class as a hybrid defender on the backend.

While Harris had long been a name to know with secondary coach Zac Etheridge offering him last year, a strong showing to start his senior season only increased Auburn's recruiting effort here. After a few weeks of hearing from Etheridge, Wesley McGriff and Hugh Freeze consistently, Harris jumped on board.

“It means I’m doing something right,” Harris recently told Auburn Undercover. “Coach Freeze is building a winning program. He wants winners around. That means I’ve got to be what he’s looking for.”

The industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranks Harris as a 3-star and the No. 680 player, No. 74 safety and No. 31 player from Alabama. Other major offers for Harris included Penn State, LSU, Arkansas, South Carolina, Florida, Florida State and Tennessee, among others.

Through the first seven games of his senior season, Harris totaled a team-high 59 tackles, seven tackles for loss, four pass breakups, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and two pick-sixes. At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Harris is joining as a potential safety, nickel or the idea of being a hybrid moneybacker has even been considered by Auburn.

In the 2024 class, Auburn also holds commitments from 4-stars Kensley Faustin, A'Mon Lane and Jalyn Crawford in the secondary.

Auburn Undercover will continue to update this story.

Probably hasn't been evaluated by the sites in a while.

An important piece

Important not only for Auburn recruiting this time around, but hopefully will help build a connection to the Thompson players for the future.  Thompson will continue to be stocked with talent and it's damn time we started getting our share!!!!!

It's amazing what can happen when coaches actually show up at the most talent rich schools in the state

It's amazing what can happen when HS coaches believe in the HC. Freeman didn't the last two.
