Dead longhorn found at Oklahoma St. frat before Big 12 title game

Police say a dead longhorn cow was found on the lawn of an Oklahoma State fraternity Friday, the day before the Cowboys football team plays Texasin the Big 12 championship game.

Police were notified just after 6:30 a.m. of the dead animal on the lawn of Farmhouse fraternity, according to Stillwater police officer TJ Low.

The carcass had an expletive carved into its side and the stomach was cut open, according to the campus newspaper, The O'Colly.

"It's a very cruel crime to be committed, especially right before the Big 12 Championship," Low told The Oklahoman. "Nothing is worth doing that kind of crap."

Oklahoma State said in a statement that it "is appalled at the disturbing display of animal cruelty ... at an off-campus location near a fraternity house." The university said both Stillwater police and the university's office of student support and conduct are investigating and that "appropriate action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation."

Low told The O'Colly that the guilty party could face an animal cruelty charge, which is a felony.

A representative for the fraternity, which was founded in 1905 by agriculture students, told the student newspaper that it was leaving the matter in the hands of police.

Google the story from 1992 when Mississippi State was getting ready to play Texas that weekend and MSU head coach Jackie Sherrill had a farmer show up with a bull to their team meeting. Jackie was trying to motivate his team to get tough and to beat Texas so he had the Farmer castrate the bull in front of the entire team.

Rumor was that Jackie also did that several times while at Texas A&M during the Texas rivalry week.

Some say that Jackie castrated it but Jackie has been asked about it often and he says he wanted the Farmer to show his team the difference between a bull and a steer and that it was for educational purposes.

There has to be surveillance all around there to be able to track this sick s***. Can’t be too hard to find a truck driving around with a dead longhorn in the back of it.

Edit: After further reading, it appears this is an escalation in two feuding frats that have been leaving dead animals on each other’s lawns. Allegedly the longhorn had died on one of the kid’s grandparents’ ranch so they brought it there. Still ****** up.
