According to an ESPN report Sunday by Jeff Passan, blame for the debacle has been leveled at supplier Nike.

Player complaints about see-through pants that allow undergarments and body parts to be visible beneath the garb, manufactured by Fanatics, will also be addressed.

The outlet cited a memo sent to players by the Major League Baseball Players Association that detailed the planned changes will include larger letters on the backs of the jerseys, fixing mismatched gray tops and bottoms and addressing Nike jerseys’ tendency to collect sweat.

Nike has been making MLBs uniforms since 2019. This year they did a whole redesign for some reason on the uniforms, changing just about everything about them, and it seems to have backfired on them.

I don't think this has any impact on the college athletic equipment or merchandise from Nike

It didn't 'seem' to backfire on them. The fans of MLB baseball are in full revolt over them. One team (St Louis?) is wearing last years unis at their home games. Saw the Yankees uniforms on Sports Center and it was even worse than I thought. Also the numbers on the new uniforms are tiny. Someone should lose their job over this.

Yeah, definitely shouldve stuck with the company that has 6 other schools, paid the university in worthless stock and makes shoes so bad players taped up nikes to wear until they were forced to use UA.

Uhhh. This discussion is about MLB. Nobody said anything about dumping anyone or staying with a company.

But you.

Our shirsey uniforms in Dixie Leage looked better than current MLB jerseys.

How do you fail in such epic fashion? Crazy.

The conversation within this thread topic between Golf, a few others, and me was about MLB uniforms. If AU can get better basketball players wearing Nike, then by all means let's get Nike.

None of that or anything you said changes the fact that the MLB uniforms suck. The players hate them as much as our BB players hated Under Armour .

I'm assuming they all have very small hands... considering all the concern over the transparency of the pants... LOL

I saw this video a few weeks ago and it’s a good rundown of what’s going on in MLB with Fanatics/Nike

The real culprit is fanatics. Everything they touch the quality drops because they try to make them as cheaply as possible

The Linsanity issue doesn't happen without a sole proprietorship

The days of Russell Athletic and Umbro are done.

Nike and fanduel are the safest fastest route to profit now. It is what it is.

They looked terrible on every team that jumped on that fad.  Not every fashion trend should be recycled.
