That is exactly what I was thinking. I really don't see the need for a bridge like that there. I guess this is one of those things where the French are trying to make up for their lack of "manhood".

No, no.... you've got it all wrong! I fianlly figured it out. GLOBAL WARMING! Once the oceans rise and the glaciers melt, that valley will be a large lake. DUH!! This is a brilliant move by the Frogs to preempt Global warming by thinking a head and building the bridges now, before the waters come.
