President Bush held up Israel as a model for defining success in Iraq, saying Thursday the U.S. goal there is not to eliminate attacks but to enable a democracy that can function despite violence.

I'm sure Iraqis will embrace Israel as the country they most want to emulate...How about Turkey?

Actually, Tunisia should be the model among Arabs. Or Qatar.

Funny thing is, in the 1960s, the president of Tunisia counselled the Palestinian leadership to seek accomodation with Israel and set up a peaceful, independent stake. Instead, the Palestinians tried the terrorism route and look at them now.
