With Barrett changing his number to 12, but staying at RB, I’m assuming that we will have to make sure that he’s not on the field at the same time as Stove???

Very odd to have 2 offensive players with same number

That's gotta be a mistake. No way Barrett is moving back to RB. There's no other #12 on D.

Poor kid. Already changed his position twice, now he has to give his number up for freshmen...

Very surprised Barrett has stuck around to be honest. He was a very sought after RB recruit and he has not had a shot to show what he's got other than a telegraphed throw to the flats every now and then during his freshman year. Did he play in 4 games last year? Is he allowed to count that season as a RS year?

Not sure but his tweets surface from time to time and he doesn't seem to have any second thoughts or doubts about any of it. Seems to just keep his head down and keep working.

As for him not having a shot, I'm willing to believe that he got a fair shake in practice and it just didn't work out. If you think about it, we moved Boobee to RB, so I have to think that Barrett wasn't ignored. And while I'm anti-size queen, it's been said that Barrett never filled out as expected and his body type just isn't conducive to RB, or at least not what we need. Maybe he's got the body of a Kam Martin but the brain of a different type of RB, and it just doesn't translate?

And with our talent at WR, I'm not surprised that he didn't stick there. He probably would have been competing at slot against RD, Schwartz, Stove and Cannella. Tough row to hoe, that.

Was he moved to DB because of Boobee/Shivers?

He was moved from RB to WR spring of last year, and then to DB in the fall. So the answer could very well be yes.

Hate number changes....right when I figure out who is who....turns out that someone else has the number...☹️    I mean..."sorry Bo, you can't have #10 because a back-up RB already has the number"     How about try #13...nobody on offense is gonna use that number this year"

uh-ohs

Must be out of the dog house! I think he was stripped of #1 because of discipline reasons last year!

I guess the coaches didn't know how much depth we had at O-line!!!!!  LOL

I guess Mikey was right after all , we're moving them from OLine to DLine and Tight End.

They knew. They can count to 17 just as well as I can. Divide 17 scholarship players by 5 positions and you get 3.4 scholarship players per position. See? The math needed to see how deep we are isn't deep at all.

They had problems counting to 4 last year, 17 might be a stretch for this offensive bunch.

I'm imagining both players going in and asking for a number change independently so they could have unique numbers, and this was the result.

I refuse to believe it happened any other way

So Jibunor played in more than 4 games last year?

Yes, he played quite a bit. If someone is to be moved from DE to linebacker, I'd like to see Jibunor moved because he's very agile. Still, I'm not out there on the practice field with them so that's a fan's opinion.

Yep. Changed positions twice and this is his second number change given to a true freshman as well.

2017 Barrett wears #5. 2018 gives 5 to incoming true freshman Anthony Schwartz. Swaps to #10 in 2018. 2019 comes with another number change. He gives up his number for a second time, to an incoming true freshman, in as many seasons.
