Auburn losing recruiting war with in-state rival

We have been trying to tell you that Saban is a recruiting machine. Still, you laughed and poked fun at him. This will be the norm with his recruiting. He is earning his money right now, imo. In a couple of years, we will be a force. You know it and we know it.............. :big:

First, nothing says, "I'm a slow-thinking moron," like posting three times in a row!

Second, you've had five coaches since CTT came to Auburn. All that we have heard for the first two years of each coach's tenure is how good they are at recruiting. Remember this line? "Shula's a great recruiter. He's young, and he knows what it takes to get to the NFL." Then, when they leave, one of the first indictments is, "He couldn't recruit."

Have you ever thought that there might be poison in the water over in T'town?

I'm not saying that CNS isn't a great recruiter. I'm just saying that, according to newspapers, radio, and television in this state, Alabama has "won" the recruiting war just about each of the last 10 years. Still, the record remains 8-2.

I'm pretty comfortable letting a coach who has been through the battles for 10 years evaluate talent, go after who he wants, and trusting in his coaching ability. Our guy knows what it takes to get to the top with consistency, while doing things the right way. Your guy has been a sprinter all of his life. Will it change now?

It is strange that some claim that stars don't matter (and they may not in all cases) but last year CTT certainly went after and got more players with 4 stars than he has so far th is year. So it must mean something! It's NEVER good when you allow your chief rival to outrecruit you in=state because it means you have established or re-established relationships with the high school coaches and the players then have friends who have committed to a certain school which draws even more to that school. I will say this....CTT cannot afford to allow this to continue in-state even if he continues to draw talent from surrounding states as in the past. I hope that Franklin and the new offensive strategy helps draw some in-state players back in our direction this year as the recruiting closes out for 2007 and continues into next year. We need to make a stronger effort to attract kids like AJ McCarron back to Auburn for camps. Check out scout and see how many kids this year attended camps at Auburn compared with Bammer. :au:

I don't really care what state our recruits are from. I'm not worried about this.

The 09 Bama class will be better than this one.

It had better. At some point the Iron Bowl at least needs to become relevant. Except for the 60's and 70's bammer has always sucked. I guess it always will. :(

ULM????

If so, it's a good thing that he can recruit. He sure can't coach!

If this were a football game, it would be like celebrating that you've won and it's not even midway through the 3rd quarter. I thought signing day was still in February.

Saban has put together an excellent class and yes, part of that is because they have more slots and can offer more immediate playing time. That's not saying it's the only reason, just that it is a major factor.

But comparing it to CTTs class right now when under him Auburn has always closed much better than it started, not to mention the boost that Franklin's hiring will give us on the offensive side of the ball in recruiting, is just stupid. Let's see what things look like on signing day. While Bama will still have one of the best classes they've had in a long time (since the Dubose era...fat lot of good it did them), Auburn's is going to look a lot better than it does right now.

No doubt Saban is recruiting well. It's been the same for years, the bammers get excited about winning the recruiting battle and then make excuses the rext of the year for losing again.

One point that hasn't been brought up is the fact that Bammer came off probation in Feb(i think) and therefore the salary cap has been lifted.

UA-the only university to have a supporter convicted in federal court for paying players.

A blind man can clearly see what is taking place. Bama will be back up with USC & Oklahoma within two years. Auburn will continue to slide. That's why Tuberville deperately wanted a raise this year, he knows he'll be getting canned within three years.

I've heard this every year. :roflol::roflol::roflol:

No problem there. It has to be better than this year's class at SPUAT was. Pretty much any high school was better than this year's SPUAT class. (And I'm using the term "class" very loosely.)

Bama had more all-SEC players this year. Didn't matter. Saban got outcoached. LSU had better players than UAB, but still lost to them. Bama didn't lose to Monroe due to a lack of player talent. Saban has had one really good year during his entire tenure. Otherwise, he's a 3-5 loss a year coach.

whistle past the graveyard.

Is this the same graveyard where the careers of Alabama football coaches are buried? Headstones like Shula, Dubose, Curry.

Tuberville has 1 SEC Title in 13 years in the SEC. Glad you're happy with him.

Saban has 2 conference titles in 12 years of coaching. And that's with him coaching in a easier conference for half his career. He's 2-4 against CTT. Plus, no undefeated seasons and he left an NFL team in shambles. Congrats on that stunning achievement. Glad you love him.

I'd love for CTT to have 8 SEC championships and 4 National Championships but he runs a clean program, wins alot of games and has his foot on Bama's neck and is stomping. The only ones that don't realize this is some of the Bammers who believe the dinasour will make a comeback. CTT has relegated Bama to the 2nd class citizens that they are. I am satisfied.

Hey I dont know if anyone has told you this but AU is something like 5-2 vs Satan I mean Saban oh yeah and ummmmm 17-10

Bottom line. Tuberville is a good fit for Auburn.

You got one right. We are ecstatic with 6 wins in a row over bama with seven on the way at JH-West.

How many times are we going to have this same freaking discussion?

Every single year we hear how Bammer is just whoopin' Auburn in recruiting. And year after year AU whoops Bama on the field.

Nothing's changed. The dumbazz Bama fans don't have enough sense to realize that they have no basis for the arrogance that they cling to. Because arrogance is all they have. Nothing but arrogance remains from their 30-year old era of winning. It's over and it's not coming back, but you can't tell them that.

Why even bother answering their idiotic babble? Just tell them to go **** themselves and let it go. And as far as I'm concerned, the next "Auburn fan" who posts some garbage about how Bammer's killing Auburn in recruiting should surrender their nuts immediately. Just put them in a jar and mail them to Shiztane from Centerpoint.

how many years are we gonna have to listen to how good bama will be in the future? That's getting as old as hearing about how good bama was 30 years ago. Hey dude...put up or shut up.

Bama will have a fine recruiting class. :cheer: Glad that pumps you up. Glad they have talent because judging by this years team performance they will get little to no development and have zero discipline.

Not only is CTT an excellent evaluater of talent, he and his staff develop players well, and he doesn't put up with crap.

There is "win at all costs" and there is winning the right way".

So far the "right way" is proving to be cheaper and more effective. :)

"Every single year we hear how Bammer is just whoopin' Auburn in recruiting"

That's just total BS. This is the 1st year in a long time that we're clearly ahead of Auburn in recruiting. We were about equal last year in the rankings, but that was before 10 players failed to make it into school for you guys. So this will just be the 2nd year in a row where we've had better classes. Look for that to manifest itself on the field, starting this year.

Geeze... Give me a break. Actually, I think BG or somebody put up the post awhile ago, but Bama has led some recruiting classes in the past years, but more so Auburn frequently.

I for one can point out one main topic.... we have alot of young talent on our team. Whereas Bama is a team looking for what it can get ahold of. See Bama's past seasons?? Not only that, but the talk of problems with players on the current team?

There is no doubt we are recruiting for our needs at this moment in time. Next year might be a different story... but right now, the youth on our team is building.

It's not the NFL draft, it's college football. Let's remember that.
