As Americans scrambled ahead of the July Fourth holiday weekend on Thursday afternoon, the Department of Health and Human Servicesreleased 1,296 pages of new regulations dealing with payment rates to doctors and hospitals.

The timing of the news release is part of a long pattern for President Obama's administration, which has often used holidays as an opportunity to dump dense regulatory changes when most reporters and Americans are focused on their holiday plans.

The release came at 4:15 p.m.

Most all those regulations are aimed at the reporting and handling of Medicare claims. As a part of funding O-Care $750 billion was taken from Medicare. I would say these regulations are aimed at making it so difficult for physicians to see Medicare patients, from the procedural and reporting aspect, that many,if not most of them, will give strong consideration to discontinuing accepting it. Any one who is half as smart as they think they are wouldn't need a link for this. It was widely discussed last year and often since.

But the link doesn't claim " 750 ", so therefore, it must be ... A LIE !!

Geez guys, if you use a specific number you need to be able to back it up. Otherwise it sounds you are either making it up at worst or at least trying to recall from memory. If the latter, just throw an approximation and acknowledge that you may be wrong.

Short version: Numbers ain't rhetoric. You need to be able to back them up with data.
