McLoofus 35,182
Edit: Whoops, thought that link might include a preview. Quote Since the Tuareg guitar band Tinariwen from Mali was launched into the international stratosphere nearly 20 years ago, it's become something of a rite of passage for rock musicians to guest on their albums. This time around, for Elwan (Elephants), their eighth international release, they're joined by Kurt Vile, Mark Lanegan (formerly of Screaming Trees), Alain Johannes (formerly of Queens of the Stone Age) and guitarist Matt Sweeney, who's worked with everyone from Will Oldham to Run The Jewels. http://www.npr.org/2017/02/02/512650724/first-listen-tinariwen-elwan?utm_source=npr_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=20170202&utm_campaign=youmusthearthis&utm_term=music Edited February 9, 2017 by McLoofus

AUld fAUx@ 2,584
I find myself in need desirous of knowledge that may be available here. I've learned that the headline group at my Mardi Gras Ball this year is somebody called the Molly Ringwalds. I gather that they're an '80s cover group with reasonably large repertoire. Any Good? All we look for, really, is somebody to provide a competent and danceable beat that cuts through our inevitable alcohol fog.

Many Thanks. Most of my Ball guests are of my children' generation. I'll pass it on. For perspective, my age is why I'll probably have little to contribute here. Most of my (fairly extensive) music collection is vinyl (some even 78s) and I doubt that's postable.
