Best of luck Carl.  Now I can stop watching the draft and do some other things.

I do hope Rudy gets drafted today.

Breaking news - there are 115 players in the draft better than Carl Lawson. (Joke). These GMs don't know who they missed out on.

There he goes, 116 overall to the Bengals.

Him and his TREX arms.....all jokes aside...I have never heard this much about short arms in a while, but if there is a player who can overcome this with his other attributes/strengths  it's Carl Lawson...

Like it or not, Carl wasn't elite at AU. He was VERY limited in his flexibility which hurt him with his pass rush, he had shorter arms which limited him in his hand fighting and being able to disengage(why he looked like he was being held).  Also, his inability to secure tackles was a huge knock(think OU game).  To me, he doesn't have the necessary tools to be a good pass rushing DE in the NFL.

Did not want to be the one to post this.I have posted before that Carl was either overrated or under coached, looks like the nfl thought he was overrated by us(Auburn fans).

Carl's biggest moment was as a freshman in 2013 when he stuffed T.J. Yeldon on 4th down.  I can't recall many tackles he made in open space.  And I can't count the times he failed to set the edge in the run game and allowed wide containment to be broken.

Yep. Yeah unfortunately those injuries really hampered his production and a chance to improve his numbers. He just never put up the numbers as other elite DE in SEC. Hope he does well in Cinci.

He did have a couple of timely sacks, not Dee Ford timely but a few against Ole Miss and again LSU last year.

There are 32 teams in the NFL, it could be that all 32 GMs are making the exact mistake on the same player or maybe we are biased regarding one of our own. I'll leave it to each of us to decide what the probabilities are. I personally think a 4th round slot is pretty good for him myself. He won't have to worry about $$ regardless now though at least.

Carl is an Auburn man through and through.  I know we are all glad to have had him on the team.  I suspect the NFL coaches will teach him how to release The Kraken!

Glad to see both players go and I hope Ford gets drafted as well. As far as Carl goes I figured he wouldn't go as early as others, but to be honest I feel like the Packers seriously got a steal with Adams in the third round. I think he should have been drafted higher and I do not think that the many drafted before him are better than he is. I am not sure what his negatives or concerns were but I just feel like he is underrated and has been underrated for whatever reason. I hope he shows out and proves me right.

Let's just agree to disagree and revisit this conversation in a couple years. I expect him to be a starter by year two.

Only negative I heard consistently was him not really balling out in the past, but this year really helped him.

Don't think Lawson will go until the late 3rd round. Adams should go in the 2nd but could slide into the 3rd.

Should he have returned for his senior year? Did it cost him a few mill entering a year early? Who told him to enter the draft early to be a 4th round pick?

Just asking...thoughts?

I think he'll be a pass rush specialist on obvious pass downs immediately. Maybe correct as a regular starter in year two. He has room and the tools to improve. I'm glad for him to get a shot.

As far as I'm concerned those teams got steals with Monty, Carl and Rudy.

Not sure about Rudy, granted you aren't giving up much by taking him in the 6th round, but I would be surprised if he ever becomes more than a special teams player.

I sincerely hope so as we are all fans of Carl. I don't think there's anyone here who doesn't hope you are right. Still, the odds are long.

Hoping a team takes a chance on Devaroe Lawrence and he will be selected. If not, will be a free agent signee.

Outstanding story on Mr. Lawrence:
