Anybody remember Place Kicker John "Rat" Riley? As I remember he knocked home several over 50 yards which included, I believe, a school record 57 yarder. I admit I may be wrong because I am going by my memory, which doesn't work like it used to.:dunno:

of course Rat had a huge leg for a straight on kicker

By the way Golf, do you know how Riley got the nickname, Rat?

Lee Gross (Gabe's dad). He was the every down center and also long snapper. He'd snap the ball and often be the first to hit the punt receiver 40 yards downfield. He was good. Now, as to the best, it has to be one of the great punters/kickers we've had over the decades.

Chris Davis actually was a really good returner in general. If you remember, he actually returned a punt for a touchdown and had another 44 yard return in the Tennessee game in '13 along with the Kick Six.

Carlson has gotta be up there though. Dude just doesn't miss man

Long Snapper, Brian Brinsfield deserves an honorable mention in 93. Jim Fyffe literally voted him 1st place in the Heisman for never having a bad snap that season to Etheridge or Daniel, who were both invaluable to 11-0.

And in 13 years of calling football, if Jim Fyffe believed a Long Snapper was worthy of the Heisman, you know he was pretty damn good.

Very nice of you to say. War Eagle!

Pretty sure that was Byrum in his freshman year, but Spurrier wasn't Florida's coach at the time.

If you haven't seen this, you need to watch. It's a classic.
