So from this is sounds like blue shirts count against the '22 class.

That doesn't fully explain it, but should al.com happen to be correct that's different from what has been understood in the past. However, since every one of these, play immediately or not, will count against the class of '22 numbers, how many does any P5 school want to take?

Well, considering that these are likely to go to transfers who meet the unrecruited rule, as many as they want to. Word has it around Auburn that we're going to take 2-4 more players than we would be able to otherwise that way, something we've been trying to tell you for days and you have stubbornly insisted that you know better than EVERYONE ELSE HERE.

As I told him earlier, he needs to get in touch with Harsin and Rich McGlynn b/c we're about to blatantly cheat the NCAA rules.  He needs to let the coaches know ASAP!!!!

They will be walkons or blueshirts. Unrecruited guys are not exactly the level of player to build an SEC contender with. We can add 35 transfer guys if we want to, we simply won't have scholarships for them.

"Unrecruited" is a legal definition. It doesn't mean we didn't recruit them at all, it means they did not take an official visit (meaning we paid for it), our coaches did not visit his home, and we didn't send him an NLI. For most of the players in the transfer portal, their only actual recruitment is Zoom calls, which are allowed under the wording of whether a player is "recruited" or not. The transfer market is full of SEC-caliber players who fit the definition of unrecruited, and thus are eligible to blueshirt.

Oh, and all those guys who transferred out recently? Yeah, their scholarship under the 85 cap is now available.

Do you realize "unrecruited" is an NCAA definition??  It's literally in the article in the OP that you clearly didn't read.

And you're right, we will not have a scholarship for them....until the 1st practice in August when they go on scholarship and are eligible to play.

The 85 limit is not any sort of problem, never has been recently. It's the 25 limit we are discussing.

Does "unrecruited" mean not recruited by AU, or not recruited by any school? I think the latter, but the term could have been changed recently.

Yes, for the ten thousandth time, "unrecruited" means by the school they blueshirt at, not unrecruited by any school.

Go back and read the damn OP.  It's literally described for you

A couple of years ago, we had a pretty good basketball player who was on an academic scholarship. This was possible because he was unrecruited by any school. Otherwise, schools could load any program up by simply putting 5* prospects on academic, tennis or whatever scholarships. If that definition of "unrecruited" has changed, the change is very recent.

Okay, then the change is very recent, because that's the definition of unrecruited that has been cited by every reputable source in the industry. You know, the people who SHOULD know what they're talking about, as opposed to your deteriorating memory databank about what the rule regarding something that you might have caught in passing somewhere along the way could possibly have been at the time.

Very disappointed in the Harsin hire for AU. Not even a B- as judged by Fox dude in the other thread. If he was any good he would have Mikey on staff telling him how to recruit LB and for roster management

Still targeting:

  • TJ Finley, QB, LSU
    • Between Auburn, Penn State, and Texas
  • Jordon Ingram, RB, Central Michigan
    • Seems like an AU lock once his academic situation is squared away
  • Ke'Shun Brown, LB, Texas A&M
    • Also seems like an AU lock and will announce within the next week or two
  • Marcus Harris, DE, Kansas
    • Another one that seems like an AU lock with a decision coming next Friday (21st)
  • Donovan Kaufman, S, Vanderbilt
    • Down to Auburn & Texas. He's said in all of his interviews he wanted to decide in mid-may so he can be on campus before June.

You[re definitely in a fog on this one. You are trying too hard to read between the lines, when you need to just read the complete understanding of their explanation...But it[s ok. We are all together in the end....I hope.🤥

Thanks Z. Looking good in many areas.

Still wondering if we will get any feelers in those other areas Harsin mentioned as needing help in.

Especially at WR and OL. (and i expect that they will keep any OL quiet to keep others from zoning in on who we are strongly considering).

This is what I’ve seen and heard because everyone wants a good offensive tackle .
