Comparison of how Biden and Trump handle Justice Dept Investigations

Hunter Biden, Joe Biden's son has been the subject of an investigation involving his taxes and whether he was under a duty to register under FARA, the Foreign Agents Registration Act.  Leading the investigation is Trump appointed U.S. Attorney for Delaware, David Weiss.  A President has the right to appoint all U.S. Attorneys.  Joe Biden did not appoint a new U.S. Attorney for Delaware and requested that David Weiss continue in his role so that there will be no appearance of undue influence over the investigation of Hunter Biden.

Hunter Biden has paid his past due taxes, which means that if charges are filed, they won't result in serious criminal penalties.  As for the FARA violation, there have been very few criminal cases brought under this statute, but recently there have been several prosecutions.  They seldom, if ever, result in jail time.

Biden had the power to fire the U.S. Attorney for Delaware and influence the ongoing investigation.  He did not.

This is how Trump handled similar matters.

We can stop pretending we don't know who makes an attempt to act ethically and who does not.
