What would y'all think of Brian Johnson? I could be talked into it...though he might be a guy to jump to an NFL gig at a moment's notice.

You could be absolutely right!

It seemed from the beginning that the first thoroughly unfounded guess by talking heads, and the fans who were listening to them, was Kiffy.  When the search failed to produce any credible leaks, the first unsupported guess continued to be the click bait the talking heads offered as the "likely hire".  They needed the clicks to pay the bills, but it seems none of them really know what's happening with the search, either.  A few of the talking heads, but only a very few, were honest enough to say they really didn't know who Auburn is talking to or wanting to hire.

As a Christian, I find no reason to cherry pick other people’s sins and compare them to mine or anyone else’s. There isn’t a person on this planet that hasn’t done wrong in some way at some time. It’s especially baffling to me that it would influence how you look at hiring a football coach. 
 

I am/wasn’t a fan of hiring Freeze but it had nothing to do with whatever he’s accused of. If it is Freeze I’ll support the Auburn football team because its football and mot politics or religion. 
 

Now if Auburn wanted to change their mascot name to the Auburn Anti-Christs I might have an issue with that. 
 

Christian virtue signaling is as bad as any other version btw.

I get your point but look at what Alabama has on offense and they have lost multiple games the past two years. Hell we almost beat them last year because their offense was garbage. Saban is probably firing BOB here soon.

He said it was a different coach I believe. For reasons I've outlined already, that makes me quite nervous. Wish we'd make a run at Elko.

I don't care so much that he cheated on his wife as much I do that he was cheating on her with hookers that he was contacting on his work phone that could be monitored. That's just moronic on top tier level. I'm sure there are current coaches/players in AU football that have cheated on their spouses/g/fs but they kept it in their private life and didn't mix it in with their work.

I don't care so much that he was paying recruits and cheating in football as much that he was one of the relativity few coaches in NCAA football that got exposed and caught blatantly doing it. I'm sure there have been people associated with AU football that payed players and/or cheated in the past...but they were smart about it and didn't get caught.

 

Hugh Freeze is an idiotic person that makes bad decisions and then is too stupid to not get caught doing them, thus ruining his and his employers reputation.

That's a primary reason why I don't want to see him as a leader at Auburn.

Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live would agree with you.  He said he doesn't want Freeze b/c he wasn't even smart enough to have someone else be his pimp!

It’s not even about freeze to me anymore. He is gone. It’s just more a revelation on how easy it would be to sell caddy to majority of our fans while our rivals would agree and laugh.

I guess if we win the public perception battle that will translate to wins on the field.  Saban didn't give a rats boute about Danny Hugh past when he tried to hire him 5 yrs ago. And Saban wouldn't care what the Bama fans thought of it either
