Jack SingleyApr 4, 2023 1:25 PM EDT The recruiting never stops, this is no more evident than this upcoming Saturday in what is usually a highlight of team building and the first televised look of the team, A-Day has become a gigantic day for recruiting. The amount of recruits is uncertain as of April 4th, but it looks to be around 20-30 recruits all in the 2024 and 2025 classes. The stars of the show will be the three five stars. Jordan Ross (JACK), Perry Thompson (WR), and Demarcus Riddick(LB/JACK). The important thing to notice is that two of these players are committed to Auburns biggest rivals. Riddick has been committed to Georgia for over six months and Thompson has been with Alabama since mid-June last year. This shows that kids are buying into the Freeze administration and giving Auburn a chance despite the failures and poor performance of the last staff. The visitor list also proves that this staff is analyzing the current roster and addressing needs. There will be at least four players each at the linebacker position, Jack position, and the defensive line position. All three are huge needs for the Tigers defense. The biggest names for these are JACK Joseph Phillips, LB Sterling Dixon, LB Bradley Shaw, and 2025 JACK Zayden Walker. Walker is the younger brother of DLZykevious Walker. The list also hints that Auburn might want to add another running back to the class, as the already committed J'Marion Burnette there along with three 2024 backs in attendance.Kevin Riley, a four-star from Tuscaloosa County, Elijah Hall, from Tuskegee, and Daniel Hill a four-star from Meridian, MS. Rounding out this weekend, Auburn will host a group of defensive backs and a singular offensive lineman. Frequent visitors Jalewis Solomon and Jayln Crawford will join committed DBs A'Mon Lane and Jayden Lewis. Solomon is related to previously mentioned Zayden Walker and Zykevious Walker. Crawford has liked Auburn for a while and has visited multiple times. The lone lineman will be Isaiah Autry, an offensive tackle who has blown up over the winter and has received tons of offers. Autry is 6'6 and 280 pounds, the frame is there and OL coach Jake Thornton sees potential. The Freeze staff recognizes the needs and since day one has been addressing them. The fact that a spring game has garnered this much attention from recruits when last years spring game had a lackluster feel both on and off field.
