Just a reminder--!

Just a reminder--!

My name is Mary Jo Kopechne.

I would have been 65 years of age this year.

Read about me and my killer below:

When Sen. Ted Kennedy was merely just another Democrat bloating on Capitol Hill on behalf of liberal causes, it was perhaps excusable to ignore his deplorable past.

But now that he's become a leading attack dog against the Republicans, positioning himself as Washington's leading arbiter of truth and integrity, the days for such indulgence are now over.

It's time for the GOP to stand up and remind America why this chief spokesman had to abandon his own presidential bid in 1980 - time to say the words "Mary Jo Kopechne" out loud.

As is often the case, Republicans have deluded themselves into thinking that most Americans already know the story of how this "Conscience of the Democratic Party" left Miss Kopechne behind to die in the waters underneath the Edgartown Bridge in July 1969, after a night of drinking and partying with the young blonde campaign worker. But most Americans un der 40 have never heard that story, or details of how Kennedy swam to safety, then tried to get his cousin Joe Garghan to say he was behind the wheel.

Those young voters don't know how Miss Kopechne, trapped inside Kennedy's Oldsmobile, gasped for air until she finally died, while the Democrats' leading Iraq war critic rushed back to his compound to formulate the best alibi he could think of.

Neither does Generation X know how Kennedy was thrown out of Harvard on his ear 15 years earlier -- for paying a fellow student to take his Spanish final. Or why the US Army denied him a commission because he cheated on tests.

As they listen to the Democrats' "Liberal Lion" accuse President Bush of "telling lie after lie after lie" to get America to go to war in Iraq, young voters don't know about that notorious 1991 Easter weekend in Palm Beach when Uncle Teddy rounded up his nephews for a night on the town, an evening that ended with one of them credibly accused of rape.

It's time for Republicans to state unabashedly that they will no longer "go along with the gag" when it comes to Uncle Ted's rants about deception and moral turpitude inside the Bush White House.

And if the Republicans don't, let's do it ourselves by passing this forgotten disgrace around the Internet to wake up memories of what a fraud and fake Teddy really is.

The Democratic Party should be ashamed to have the national disgrace from Massachusetts as their spokesman.

Anyone wanting to hit Kennedy with his past should do so straight up, instead of pretending to be this dead woman speaking from the grave, speaking as a cheerleader for the GOP. People who use this woman in this way, shouldn't even pretend to care about her.

Defending Kenedy with that has to be the lamest post ever on this board. To attack a perfectly valid literary device? That's the best you got? Tex, why cant you just quit defending the indefensible? Kennedy killed this poor girl or "allowed her to die" to try and keep his reputation. Of course the number of Dems willing to step up and criticize this is a negative number on a number line. None will because none ever have.

Dems: We Hate Bush, Retreat and Defeat, Mary Jo Who?

As far as the cheating goes... http://www.ytedk.com/scandals.htm

Not even I believed that until I did the google of it.

The democrats were fine with "channeling" the voices of the dead when John Edwards did it in the courthouse back in 1985. If I remember correctly, it showed he had passion.

Of course, this baby died from the mistake of her doctor, not because of a morally corrupt, gin swilling politician who tried to get his cousin to take the fall.

The David Reflex. So predictable. So stupid. You don't give a damn about Mary Jo Kopeche or her family. You use her on a regular basis for your political purposes and think it makes you morally superior.

Are you really shocked and outraged that more than 35 years later, this is not a hot news item?

Whatever Kennedy did that night was somewhere between very bad and unforgivable. We don't disagree on that much. Bring it up all day if you wish. Mention her name, state the known facts, draw your conclusions and try to convince others about how bad Kennedy is. A few truths remain, though. If a person of questionable integrity makes a solid factual case against Kennedy, is it any less solid of case? On the flip side, if Kennedy makes a solid factual case against someone, does that make it less solid of a case? If not, why not focus on his arguments to Alito's integrity, instead of the constant attack on the messenger? If his case against Alito is weak, point that out. Its the most useful and relevant argument at this point. Kennedy's moral shortcomings really have nothing to do with Alito. Why make that the focus?

The "literary device" here, might be more acceptable if the voice of Mary Jo is used as a simple reminder of the live she lived that was cut short. If could even raise questions about what happened that night, since Kennedy has managed to walk away with little accountability, with the exception of his presidential ambitions. And leave it there--- it is about her dying and the reasons for it. It is not about rah rah rah GOP/boo hiss Dems! None of us have any idea what her politics would be at age 65. You are just using her.

Teddy got away with murder because of his last name. Any questions?

Tex, that was actually a "So Not Tex" answer I am stunned. You didnt ask the 5 inane questions you usually do. You actually admitted that a Dem did wrong. You actually used some thought and left the talking points at home WTG, Tex!

I admiit Bush is not the sharpest tool in the shed. I really never voted FOR the guy. I have started using more depth in my research as well. I thought the Harvard and Army stuff was crap until I actually googled it. Wow.

But actually Tex. I care very deeply about MJK. I think it is a crime that has no statute of limitations with it. I would dearly love to see someoen in the Dem party or even in the Rep party with the gonads to do something about it. If Kennedy had been a poor or middle class black man, he would rotting in prison to this day.

Kennedy is a disgrace. But he is a typical demoncrat. Hypocrit.

TED KENNEDY QUITS CLUB

Following criticism he received over his membership in an all-male club at Harvard (despite his criticizing Supreme Court Nominee Samuel Alito for once belonging to another club,) Massachusetts Senator Teddy Kennedy has renounced his 50-year membership in the Owl Club.  He calls it "a mistake to continue being affiliated."

This after the Senator from Chappaquiddick scolded Alito, saying his "affiliation with an organization that fought the admission of women into Princeton calls into question his appreciation for the need for full equality in this country."  And just what has the Owl Club done?  Well..let's see.  They were kicked off the Harvard campus in 1984 for refusing to admit women.

Kennedy's excuse is the same as Alito's....it was something he belonged to while he as at school, but a club he has since abandoned.  Sorry..not good enough.  If you hold Kennedy to Kennedy's standard...then he's not fit for public office!  Oh, and by the way, Kennedy still pays his dues to The Owl Club.  So much for it just being something he belonged to in college.  If that's so, then why would be still be paying them money and keeping up his membership?

Once again...typical Democratic hypocrisy.  Do as I say, not as I do.

Boortz says it best.
