Ellitor,

I was a Chevy man and into dragging.

When i was a senior in high school everyone owned a 340 Duster, Mach One Mustang or a 396 Chevelle.

Me:

396 Nova

Iskenderian Cam

Pop-up pistons

2 4's

Hooker headers

Most people had a 4:11 rear end with positive trac. I was running 4:86 short wheelbase to get bigger tires in back. Cheater slicks (This meant they had two treads to be street legal)

3 speed Muncie transmission with reverse lock-out

premimuim gas was 35 cents a gallon.

9 second quarter miles

Yes, I was a speed freak.

Now, I look at cars and think. I bet that rides good...... LOL!

Johnathan Ford is being recruited for something most fords are not known for...speed.

When I was a teen and into muscle cars....

F fix

O or

R repair

D daily

Classic for sure. My Dad would always respond First On Race Day. Good times. :)

Me too. Especially when it came to this guy

Thanks for the Davey memory. I used to do some work with Bobby Allison Motorsports and have the greatest of respect and love for Bobby Allison - the greatest stockcar racer who ever lived - period. Had Davey lived the record book would be very, very different.

Same here. I have a clock and the 28 flag his crew was flying high at his scheduled race at Talladega the week he died.

Im from Hueytown but only 27 so i didnt meet them but my stepdad (who played at McAdory and graduated with Vincent "Bo" Jackson lol worked with Clifford Allison and it hurt him bad when he died at Michigan. My grandmother's sister babysitted Clifford and Davey. My moms family grew up on a street by where Bobby had his shop and and took him parts alot. Now my stepdad's father's grave is about 20 yards from Davey Allison's grave. And i love racing by the way. Off topic i know but it's great to know what great people the Allison's are and that they are part of our state history. It's cool to hear stories about nascar in Birmingham from those days. The good ole days

Nah!

Went to a 1961 Covette next....To satisfy my speed needs. I rode a KZ1000

This will make ellitor laugh. I now drive Ford F 150 4X4 company truck.

Is a4e just pointing at random things in the room and saying he loves them?

Al.com says he and his family will discuss his options on the ride home. I think our staff really made an impression.

Said he hung with Tre Mason and Quan Bray. Also that the coaches Malzahn and Lashlee meet with him and there meeting went great.
