I am working on some graphics for my website. What are some good programs to use..

Free if available....

I made my sig in some stupid program..

I use Paint Shop Pro, and find it to be superb for that specific task. Relatively inexpensive (compared to its competition), but not free.

How about a FREE program that is FULLY supported by a huge community AND is just as good, or better, than Photoshop in almost every way?

Photoshop Elements is pretty good and you can get a 30 day free trial at www.adobe.com. It's about the same price as PSP.

I fail to see a connection with UA and a hate for open source?? At any rate: I LOVE FREE. lol Not to mention, there are many GREAT open source programs out there.
