I was thinking the same. Tucker Carlson hasn't given them word on how to spin this, yet. I will give Trump some credit. He has been able to get away with a lot more than anyone else ever could. Barry O would have been gone by now if he was living Trumps life. The party has become completely shameless, in the name of pushing through judges and tax cuts.

Popehat with another NYTs op-ed.

Can Michael Cohen Bring Down Trump?

Who knows, the once-cocky fixer, now humbled, could find himself a star witness at hearings on impeachment of our 45th president.

Quote

On Tuesday, Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former consigliere and a man who had a talent for ostentatious indifference, walked into federal court and pleaded guilty to eight felonies. Remember during the election when he was confronted on CNN with dismal polls suggesting his candidate was losing, and he scoffed, “Says who?” That time his bravado was warranted.

But yesterday it was a remarkable reversal of fortune for the man who styled himself the president’s attack dog and fixer, a man quick with a threat of a libel suit or a promise to destroy journalists who vexed him or his boss. Mr. Cohen was forced to abase himself before a roomful of reporters, admitting to a wide range of serious wrongdoing, including tax evasion and bank fraud — while also directly implicating the president of the United States in federal campaign finance violations.

This preposterous age of manic news cycles — Mr. Cohen’s admission came on the same day that Paul Manafort, the president’s former campaign chairman, was convicted of eight counts of tax and bank fraud — weekly bombshells and improbable politics has left us deadened to amazing developments. So let me repeat it for emphasis and for history: The president’s personal lawyer pleaded guilty to a federal crime and testified under oath that the president told him to do it.

In the most explosive admissions, Mr. Cohen pleaded guilty to two federal campaign finance violations on behalf of — and, according to Mr. Cohen, testifying under oath, “in coordination with and at the direction of” — President Trump. The charging document describes a scheme to pay off Karen McDougal, the former Playboy model, and the adult film actress Stormy Daniels to buy their silence about their affairs with Mr. Trump. Mr. Cohen admitted to arranging for American Media, Inc. — publisher of The National Enquirer — to pay Ms. McDougal $150,000 to keep her story quiet to protect the Trump campaign, thus causing a prohibited corporate campaign contribution.

This forum is all I know about it, but.....Cohen pleads guilty to paying off hookers to shut up? I have never been able to make the connection between giving hookers hush money and campaign violations. To me, campaign violations was Mr. T. B. standing outside the Randolph County Courthouse with a stack of $5 bills and paying lower income folks to "Pull the donkey's tail (vote the straight democrat ticket) as many times as you can."  "I have more names right here for you to use the next time through." Of course, that was 1976 so I expect things are more sophisticated these days.

To me, that's election fraud. Isn't paying hush money somewhere in the same area as buying television ads?

Radio silence lasted longer than I expected.

He's going to leave him a bad review on Google, I guess.

I wonder how the election would have gone if the holy rollers knew Trump was paying off porn stars to keep quiet about his affairs. I suspect Darrell Castle  would have had a stronger showing. Haha

The Federalist is literally claiming Manafort won because of the mistrial on 10 counts. They act like it's a 10-8 win. It's more like an 8-0 shutout with 10 runners left on base.

It's so disheartening to see the extent to which previously respectable publications whore themselves out to Trump.  Total loss of any integrity they once had.

Others I found funny:

Titanic dodges most icebergs, only striking one during its maiden voyage to America.

Majority of homes in Atlanta still standing after Sherman passes by.

Major league pitcher fails to strike out all 27 batters in perfect game.

Tsunami only damages one nuclear power facility in Japan. Most power plants safe.

Lizzy Borden spares her sister.

Most of New York not damaged in attack.

Ten structures survive Hiroshima bombing.

Crazy time we're living in, boys and girls. Truth isn't Truth. You can't believe what you see. Alternative facts are a thing. It's like we're living in the twilight zone.

The most ironic part of all of this, is what's going to end up getting the ,man who was supposed to bring a moral standard, back to this country, down is that he was having an affair and paying of his ladies of the night. We get to witness first hand what is more important to the "family values party".
