Hopefully we get Bryant and Packer healthy over the next few weeks. The team can really make some noise.

I thought I had read (back when practice started) that both were healthy and 'ready to play'???  Do you know what's going on with them?

My impression is that, given an abundance of talent, Dean is bringing injured players back slowly, to try to prevent re-injury.  I'm speaking of Packer, Bryant, and Lowe.  I believe Packer took the field for the last inning vs. Illinois, not sure that Bryant has seen the field.  Lowe has pitched only in closer mode so far, but I'll be surprised if she stays in that mode.  What we'd like is for Lowe to return to 2021 form, and have Widra as #3.  Rolfe will be brought along, as she is the future.  Tresvik is valuable in other ways, so she may not get as many opportunities.  Of course, all this is just my opinion.

A thing to consider is that we may have new players who are better than Packer and Bryant.  Where would Bryant play if she started Friday?  Widra, for one, is changing the shape of things.  I'm loving her.

Either way, ridiculous to take a win away from a team with one out remaining. I understand the rule to some degree but maybe it should read finish the current inning or something

To make matters worse, evidently the Texas coach appeared to be deliberately stalling to have the game end.  Supposedly some of the worst case of stalling some of the fans have seen.  Head's up on his part noticing it was getting close because the rules are out there, but not ethical lol.  Just take the L buddy. Unreal situation. Shouldn't be a rule, or at least allow the inning to finish once it starts or not start the inning if it likely doesn't finish.

Saw where Bama dropped their opening game to Lehigh.  Fouts came in to a tie game with runners on and gave up a 3 run double.  The Bammer blog I read was dogging Murphy big time.  First opening game loss since 2010 and according to the blogger, the first opening day loss to a non Power 5 team ever.  Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

I also think Dean is bringing back the injured players slowly. Lowe obviously has the potential to be another ace.we will need her during the SEC, so I think we’ll continue to see her in a relief throughout “preseason,” especially with Widra’s ability in the circle. Hopefully Rolfe can also eat up a few innings against lesser teams

I don’t think Smith nor Tresvik did enough to solidify their spots in CF over Packer. She ran and played in the field during the first weekend, so I think once she is able to bat, she’ll be pencilled into the lineup.

Bryant batted and ran the bases. Dean mentioned she is still trying to find her timing. She has potential to play multiple positions - 2nd, 3rd, DP, and OF. I think Widra has third base locked down in the interim, but someone has to play 3rd when she pitches.

McCrary, Tresvik, and Roberts all had good moments this weekend, as well. Cox also has the ability to compete.

Geez I wish whatever happened on my mobile with AUFamily would go away. Very hard to type anything without a bunch of spaces or work to get anything typed when quoting somebody. Sucks.

The same thing has been happening to me over the last few days. I have to type this fast or else the entire selection gets highlighted and it kicks me out of the text box. Thought it was just my phone.

I agree. Now while our team BA hasn't been that high, she's been in the Top 2 for BA during her two years here.  We could also benefit from her base running as she led the team in runs scored last year.
