I'm all in on the Duke's Mayo Bowl. If nothing else, it's a short drive (from a Texan's perspective) down to the last of the Quincy's Steakhouses in Florence SC. I used to love that place when I was in my teens and 20's.

The Quincy’s rolls and the buffet. Wow

I remember standing in line at the East Gadsden Quincy’s on Meighan Blvd. after church one Sunday. A big promotional poster on the wall featured a rookie NASCAR driver phenom named Jeff Gordon. Good times. And good rolls.

Any bowl game is a bonus because of the added practice time. And a bowl win for CHF in his first rebuild year would be great for recruiting. Let's go bowling!

The bowl needs to have SEC tie-ins and be further down the pecking order for a 7-5 Auburn team. The SEC tie-in bowls include Liberty Bowl, Gasparilla Bowl, Texas Bowl, Duke's Mayo Bowl, and Birmingham. The Music City Bowl is the other option.

There are SEC teams with stronger records than Auburn vying for these lesser bowls -- Missouri, Kentucky, A&M, Tennessee. A&M may have the inside track on the Texas Bowl. Tennessee may have the inside tract on the Music City Bowl. Auburn may be perceived as "too good" for a repeat at the Birmingham Bowl.

I'd be very happy with the Music City Bowl, since Auburn has never lost in that bowl game. Wisconsin maybe? The Duke's Mayo vs an ACC team would be a challenge for our Tigers, but the idea of Auburn vs Clemson might appeal to the selection crew for its potential TV audience.

Whatever, Auburn 7-5 going into a bowl game should be a great start to the CHF era at Auburn.

I don't have delusions of grandeur, BUT you seem to have a 7-5 record called all ready.

Its not out of the realm of possibility that we can't beat Bama.

If Ron Roberts can come up with a defensive plan to contain Milroe and Thorne could have a near perfect game and our receivers not have butter fingers for just 1 dead blame game, we got a legit shot.

Stranger things have happened in Jordan-Hare.

If that happens we may get a Jan. 1 bowl.

Don’t see them beating UGA but they will kill Vandy IMO.

When I was at Auburn the old-timers were meh abt Georgia, Bama & UF but wanted to KILL Ga Tech. Wreck Tech Pajama Parade was awesome! I loved us punking Curry & his aviator shades when he was running the Ga Tech show.

I ate there once when I was playing in a golf tournament.

I was from out of state and didn’t get the GT hatred when I arrived. But it was definitely a thing and the parade and floats were cool.  Every year - along with the gators and vols. A million rivalries ago.

Anyway it’d be fun game and I’d like the matchup.

Clemson, Miami, Duke, Southern Cal, UCLA, Rutgers, West Virginia, Iowa State, and Maryland all have the same record as Auburn currently. 6-4.  I think these are all among the likely opponents for Auburn in a bowl game -- unless Auburn gets lucky and upsets Bama, in which case, at 8-4 with a big signature win, Auburn would get bumped up to the next level.

The bowl needs to have an SEC tie-in and be looking at SEC teams with a mid-tier W-L record. . So that includes the Liberty Bowl, the Texas Bowl, the Music City Bowl, the Gasparilla Bowl, the Duke's Mayo Bowl, and the Birmingham Bowl.

Personally, I'd love to see Auburn play USCw or UCLA. This would be a major sell for recruiting! And the coaches would have no problem getting the team fired up for that one. I'm just not sure which bowl would host that game.

The Gasparilla Bowl and Birmingham Bowl usually end up with SEC teams that barely qualify. I think Auburn gets a better bowl than either of those.

I figure most likely -- Duke's Mayo vs Clemson, Duke or Miami (all ACC), or Music City vs Rutgers or Maryland (both Big 10), or Texas Bowl vs Iowa State or West Virginia (both Big 12).

No non-NY6 tie ins with the Pac this year, sadly. Obviously a moot point next year.

They still have them at the remaining two locations. https://florencequincys.com/

I was a cook at Quincy's before college.  We had the best breakfast buffet in town because Spartan Foods also owned Hardees. The same lady would make biscuits for the two restaurants starting at 3:00 am each morning.

My sister's best friend is the chairperson for the independence bowl.  It's typically a terrible game, but the tailgating and food is epic.

If we got the ind. bowl, I'd get all sorts of access. Could be fun.

Bird, if you go to Shreveport, get some strawberry pie at Strawn's on Kings Highway. Go out of your way if you have to. Trust me.

Shreveport sucks, but you can have a fun night there. Enjoy the tailgating and food, like you already said, and spend the night at one of the casino boats.

Then get the hell out of town because it's all diminishing returns after that.

2003... right after I'd watched USC come into Auburn and knock us out cold, those unranked street urchins shuffled over and kicked us while we were down.
