In terms of net migration, Florida led all states with a net increase of 170,000 residents relocating from other states in 2020. Texas was second in net increase with almost 98K new residents, with Arizona experiencing a net increase of 94K individuals.

Florida (318,855), Texas (230,961), and the Carolinas – North Carolina (99,796) and South Carolina (84,030) – were the states with the most net domestic migration gains in 2022. Positive net domestic migration and positive net international migration significantly boosted population growth in these areas. Florida was the fastest-growing state in 2022, with an annual population increase of 1.9% within a year. In fact, that was the first time since 1957 that Florida’s population grew faster than anywhere else across the United States. With most of these fast-growing areas located in the South, this region continues to be the most populous region, with nearly 130 million residents.

However, California (-343,230), New York (-299,557), and Illinois (-141,656) experienced the largest net domestic outmigration. As a result, the population dropped even further in these states. Despite this decrease, California remained the most populous state, with nearly 39 million residents statewide.

And yet they come to us when the #%^* hits the fan and they need an Avenger.

No, they look to us because of what we started with NATO, Globalization (Which ain't as bad as people make it out to be), and how we intervene in their politics and markets. And boy, do we intervene.  It can look almost as bad as what we have done in Central and South America.

They look to us to be bigger than what we are, and we fail, miserably.

Is that a "yes"?

Except nobody is ever going to actually physically invade America. If another superpower seriously decided that America needs taking out we're getting nuked or attached with chemical weapons, not having our shores invaded by a physical army.

Americas 32 billion-trillion privately owned guns wont be any good against what other countries actually end up attacking America with.

Regardless of the weaponry, our future security depends on allies, especially Europe. An attack on them is an attack on us.  The world has become a very small place, like it or not.

Agree - there isn’t any nation, or combination of nations with the force projection ability to invade the US.

Unfortunately all it would take is a massive cyber attack on our infrastructure or an EMP and about a week or two afterwards most of the country would look like NOLA following the hurricane, except it won’t be localized and assistance from neighboring states won’t be there to help.
