1) he actually shed light on NATO.  
2) he signed an EO that kept people in Mexico instead of turning them loose in the USA.

And then midterms hit Republicans lost the house so nothing was going to get done in the legislative side.   Except for two impeachment proceedings taking up much of congress.   And also let’s not forget that ole virus called Covid.

Well you are forgiving. Because besides talking a lot and making lawyers rich - he accomplished nothing lasting. Nothing.

Being a successful president is more than just getting your base stoked. It’s about building coalitions and getting lasting legislation done.   Not just signing some EOs and then alienating everyone else, blaming,  and whining. He’s a leadership train wreck.

Let’s not forget though, Trump went into his presidency with the majority in both houses and even had 38 of the 50 governorships. He bragged incessantly about how much everyone loved him and how well he would work with Congress. If he could’ve kept his mouth shut and focused on the job instead of himself, he would’ve kept the majority and been easily re-elected. 
 
Now, in fair balance all Biden had to do was be at least average on the economy and at least pretend to care about enforcing border control. He failed at both so here we are again. 

My premise is neither party is beating the other on merit. They’re taking turns losing power with ineptitude and for petty stuff.

Okay whatever you say.   What president in the last 40 years has done any of that?   It’s all just status quo for anyone that is elected.   There are no give and take by anyone anymore.   And that includes democrats and republicans.

Huh? Bush -> the Patriot act, Oboma - > Obama care, Biden -> infrastructure bill (which Trump failed at). Trump literally got nothing passed. 

Every president has accomplished… something lasting.
