Excluding both team's D1AA opponents, here are the margins:

Auburn is +11 on offense and -7 on defense, with an average score of 34-14.

Alabama is +1 ( 5.5 ) on offense and -13 on defense, with an average score of 23-9.

As bad as Alabama's offense has been, they are still putting up great defensive numbers. Bama's defense has only allowed 8 drives of +70 yards in 127 possessions. Only 1 in their last 52 possessions ( 4 games ). They also have 52 three & out series, while Auburn's defense has 37. Auburn's offense has 25 drives of 70-yards or more from 114 possessions, scoring 19 TD's and 2 FG's.

IMO, Auburn's offense is much better than Bama's and Bama's defense is better than Auburn's, giving Auburn the slight edge overall. Homefield advantage will also be a key factor, allowing our team to play off the emotions of the fans. We have ten plays on offense of 30-yards or more in the last two games, so big plays would be a plus. Because neither team will not be able to consistently drive the ball on the other's defense, big plays will be HUGE. I give an edge to Alabama here because they have had more success, hitting the deep ball unless we can break some big runs. I hope Lester is close to being 100% because Kenny will take a major beating if he has to carry the ball 30-35 times.
