When Richt retires in 3-4 years, I expect us to get a solid new HC....but lets say he retired tomm

I would say that my personal list would be

1) Jimbo Fisher - Not a great OC but a very smart, hard-working man who like Richt is a good person and though not the BEST OC can hire good assistants and have a very effective team.

2) Willie Martinez - Our DC, great overall man and solid coach.

3) Gene Chicak - Iowa State HC...lure him away.

I think you guys are overlooking two very viable options.

1) Jimmy McGinty -- He coached that team of replacements and managed to whip Bill (or was it Ted) into playing shape after Ted (or was it Bill) was wasting his life behind a bar. Plus McGinty probably has some Kryptonite left over from one of his previous jobs.

2) Coach Venner -- He's dead now, but he did turn that mule into a field goal kicking phenom. And don't forget he made a great landlord to a gay guy and a couple of hot chicks. Surely there was an assistant on his staff who would be ready for a head coaching slot.

1) The head cheerleader was the bartender. Bill (or was it Ted) scraped barnacles off the bottom of boats.

I'm sure after Petrino fails for 2 miserable years in Atlanta, AU could pony up about $5MM/year to lure him back to the plains....it sure would be consistent with the trend - Spurrier, Saban, etc.

Then we could hire P. Nix as OC (even though it would be Pertrino's show) and keep CWM as DC.

Now with all that said, not sure I would trade the bunch we have for any of those. WDE

Well, he was until that unfortunate incident with the toilet plunger and 4 German girls a few months ago.

They really don't expect him back. What a shame. Gis had a promising future.
