Plus he has to establish relationships all over again after being away from Auburn for a couple years. Recruiting is all about relationships in most cases. If we get quality offensive lineman In this class guys like T-Will, Porter, and Garner are going to have to do some heavy lifting selling JB. 2 1

Yes most only have 1 year but they have a much higher chance of making a quality impact & plugging holes in the line up when needed.

If we take a juco he would be a part of the 22-23 we sign in December & February. The 2-3 spots saving is for a GT if it looks needed after NSD.
ellitor 33,108
Quote Who could be next to commit? By Keith Niebuhr Who could be the next recruit to join the Auburn commit list? Here are some candidates. SLIDE 1 of 8 Keiondre Jones. (Photo: 247Sports) -Keiondre Jones, OG, Hogansville (Ga.) Callaway: Auburn-Florida battle? Maybe. Jones, a 4-star recruit, has visited Auburn five times this year (that we know of) and has 5-star Auburn commit Owen Pappoe in his ear. Auburn is very much a contender with a summer decision possible. He attended Big Cat Weekend last Saturday at Auburn and will return to Auburn this weekend for an official visit. Additionally, he has an official visit scheduled to Florida next weekend. Auburn is trending up and the Tigers are said to feel fairly optimistic about their chances right now. Might this week's official push Auburn over the top? It's possible. Jones is a key target on the interior of the offensive line. SLIDE 2 of 8 2019 LB and 247Sports Four-Star Derick Hall (Photo: 247Sports) -Derick Hall, Buck LB, Gulfport (Miss.): Auburn and Mississippi State are the co-favorites for the 4-star pass rusher. Hall already has visited the Tigers four times this year and most recently was on campus last Saturday for Big Cat Weekend with his mother, grandmother and sister. He potentially could announce this summer, but that isn’t set in stone. Auburn has made a huge impression on Hall and his family and intel suggests the Tigers like where they sit at the moment. But the Bulldogs are battling hard so it’s no given he will pick Auburn. Hall probably is Auburn’s top target at the buck. SLIDE 3 of 8 DE target Colby Wooden. (Photo: Keith Niebuhr , 247Sports) -Colby Wooden, DE, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer: Wooden has Auburn and Clemson as his co-leaders and Miami in the No. 3 spot. He’ll visit the Hurricanes in July. Auburn seems to be trending up. He has visited multiple times this year, most recently last Saturday for Big Cat Weekend. We’re told that visit went extremely well from the Auburn point of view. Wooden, we feel, probably is leaning Auburn at the moment but Clemson hopes to get him back on campus in the near future. Wooden, a strong-side end, will announce his commitment in August. If he were picking today, we think Auburn would be the choice. SLIDE 4 of 8 Jashawn Sheffield. (Photo: Keith Niebuhr, 247Sports) -Jashawn Sheffield, S/ATH, St. Simons Island (Ga.) Frederica Academy: The 4-star athlete has Auburn in front and could be on the verge of committing. Before he does, though, his mother would like to visit the school once more. Sheffield couldn’t attend Big Cat Weekend last Saturday because he was taking the SAT that day. He plans to officially visit the Tigers soon. In fact, it could happen this weekend or the next. If that visit goes well and his mother gives him the go-ahead to commit, then Sheffield likely will join the class. With Auburn recruiting several other defensive backs, he may not want to wait too long. SLIDE 5 of 8 5-star DB Andrew Booth. (Photo: @andrewbooth21) -Andrew Booth, CB, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer: A 5-star recruit, Booth does not have an official leader but most see this as being between Auburn and Clemson. At one time, Clemson was the heavy favorite. Now, it appears to be a toss-up. One source told us last week Auburn may even have pulled ahead, if only by a little. Booth attended Big Cat Weekend last Saturday, making it his third time on campus since March. Auburn is trending up, but Clemson still has a very realistic chance to land him. One thing helping Auburn; he is very close with Pappoe. Clemson, though, just offered one of his best friends a scholarship. This one still could go either way with a summer decision likely. SLIDE 6 of 8 William Putnam. (Photo: @BigWillPut) -William Putnam, OG, Tampa (Fla.) Plant: Putnam, a top-100 national recruit, without question is one of Auburn’s biggest recruiting targets on the offensive side of the football. He has visited the Tigers twice this year, including last Saturday for Big Cat Weekend. The Auburn staff, namely area recruiter Tim Horton and offensive line coach J.B. Grimes, have bonded well with Putnam. The Tigers feel he’s a great fit on and off the field at Auburn. Auburn and FSU stand out from the pack, with a summer decision likely. Putnam hopes to make a return trip to Auburn before he announces his decision. SLIDE 7 of 8 Hunter Rayburn. (Photo: Christopher Nee, 247Sports) -Hunter Rayburn, OG, Pensacola (Fla.): Rayburn has a 3-star ranking, but his stock is really on the rise of late as programs such as Auburn, Alabama and Clemson offered this spring. He visited Auburn a few weeks ago and plans to return soon. He tentatively is scheduled to officially visit next weekend. According to Rayburn, Auburn is a big factor in his recruitment. Clemson certainly is another program to closely watch. Florida also. Rayburn told Auburn Undercover he is shooting to have a decision in August — before his senior season gets underway. Auburn is very much a top contender. SLIDE 8 of 8 Zion Puckett (Photo: Rusty Mansell, 247Sports) -Zion Puckett, DB, Griffin (Ga.) Spalding: The 4-star athlete, who said he’d play defensive back at Auburn should he pick that school, named the Tigers his leader after his visit last weekend for Big Cat. They had been trending up for awhile. We’re told the staff views him as a special athlete who could play safety or corner in college. Auburn may be in front, but Alabama and others are very much in the picture so the Tigers’ work isn’t over. The feeling here is if Auburn can get him on camps again this summer, the Tigers can stretch the lead over the field a bit. He has no set timetable to announce right now.
CameronCrazy 1,072
I love where Auburn stands right now. We appear to be much more aggressive than previous years, especially with top talent. I just wish the “BOOMs!” Would start coming. I think we need to get a commit really soon to keep this momentum going.

As E alludes to this may not be a fundamental change but “optics” -wise this year is very different. Having Nix and Pappoe on board early and recruiting for us like they are is obviously a big part of it. Whatever it is I’m digging the results so far and the current trends. WDE!
