The existence of different types, including conservative media, is a good thing.  What isn't a good thing is how the extremes have decided that it is now acceptable to push false narratives if it advances their goals.  Nobody does it better than Fox.  They don't just do it here, but they do it in other countries as well.  Fox does it because it is profitable to do so.

@arein0 when asked what was her favorite memory she says “equal pay*.  She is an icon in true sport, how she answered was more like a politician.  It hasn’t been about the sport for a long time for her.

Equal pay is and was a major milestone for women's rights. Yeah winning a major tournament is great, but impacting a better, major change for former and future women athletes is a much bigger deal. Some things are bigger than the game.

As for the rest, I don't think it was a lack of focus, she is way past her prime and she knows it. You could see she was not confident in her game everytime they showed her face. I think the only reason she was on the team and played was her legendary status, injuries leading up to the WC, and poor coaching. 

The leader of the team was not Rapinoe or Alex Morgan, the captain in every game was Lindsey Horan, one of the 2 that actually sang the National Anthem. Yes Alex Morgan was named captain as well, but on the field you only have one official captain and that was Horan, meaning she was the real leader of the team.

If you think some things are bigger than the game, you shouldn’t be playing you should be in the management of the union (but that doesn’t pay as much does it?).  Rapinoe may not have been the official *captain* of the team, but she carried more weight.

If she thought more about the sport and/or the team she would have taken herself out if what you say is true.  I think the only reason the coach didn’t pull her in that last game was her status and it would have been a bold move he wasn’t willing to take.  The only one that could have affected a change was Rapinoe.  She is a selfish player and she tried insert an I into TEAM.

Yes, the player with the 3rd most all time assists for the USWNT is a selfish player. And out of the top 10, only Mia Hamm has a better assist per game ratio.

Just because you don't agree with her protesting, doesn't make her a selfish player.

How many assists did she have in this World Cup?  I don’t agree with her style of protest, but that is not the reason she is a selfish player.  She just waited too long to hang it up, which makes her selfish.  As it is, her last memory of ever playing is a missed PK which could have sealed the victory.

I formed my opinion of her before this World Cup.  This one just solidified it for me.

She achieved her goal of equal pay and she said it what she remembers most.  So why play this year?  Just to blow a PK on her farewell tour?  Hung around too long and made her the focus of an embarrassing early exit in the World Cup.  Talk about a 🤡
