Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Anniversary

Recommended Posts

Today 7/7 is former POTUS Jimmy Carter and wife Rosalynn's 77th anniversary. Amazing!  He is a good man and she is good woman. They have set a great example for others to look up to.

Jimmy is proof that good people don't typically make good presidents.

Congrats to them on 77 years. That's simply incredible.

Jimmy got a lot of issues right. He didn’t grasp how to command the bully pulpit. He also didn’t blow up the national debt.

She is a wonderful woman.  I met her in the early 90s while delivering huge ferns to a South Georgia Historical Society event that she was helping coordinate.  She took the time to get the guy that was helping me and myself a glass of iced tea on that hot Spring day.  She then insisted that we sit and tell her where we were from and what we were studying etc.  She was like any other nice Southern Lady, which is why that has always been a memory to treasure.

Good people are ultimately the best leaders.  Their mistakes are typically naive and, corrected in the short-term.

Bad people are never good leaders.  Their "mistakes" are calculated, difficult to overcome.  They undermine and destroy our moral, ethical, intellectual, principled basis.
