White starting - CONFIRMED

Ironically the last time somebody posted I was being excessively dramatic I had compared Kiehl Fraser's dropped TD against Clemson with JJ's called back TD for holding against Louisville as being possible career turning points. Interesting.

Don't forget you're also the guy who said fornette is just hype

Chimes, I posted I'm devastated for JJ and if you're not you've either never played competitive college athletics or you need a solid dose of humanity... or both. JJ is not some screwoff that blew his chances by partying out of control or thumbing his nose at the rules. He's by all appearances a quality Auburn man that so far hasn't produced this season so he's being benched. Possibly permanently

You didn't know? He is a world renowned coach.

I never said that. I said I'm a very successful coach. It's flattering that I tell you my accomplishments and you find them to be absolutely unfathomable. Let that sink in.

I look forward to all the negative posters turning positive

haha. Until White throws his first INT. I hope not though. Hope White is the answer. I just want our team to get better. I don't care who's throwing the rock.

Sean White is mobile to an extent. Sort of like Aaron Murray his last year at UGA. Be excited folks, SW should be pretty darn good.

At this point, i'm less concerned about his running ability versus CAN HE READ A DEFENSE! If he can read a defense..heck we're halfway home!

Well, this is an interesting turn of events; but one I think had to be made. I was talking to someone before the season about JJ and I said that while I believed he had the talent to do it, we would have to see how he handled being "the man" day in, day out and week in, week out. It is a very different animal from being the back-up and playing in certain roles and situations, to being the starter and everything is on your shoulders.

I don't know what is going on in JJ's head, but I think this will help him too. I'm not saying he will be the starter again or that he will suddenly become what many said he was going to be; but, maybe this will help calm him down and settle him.

It will be interesting to see what White can do. I am also interested to see if the O game plan is any different or if we see Smith (or other) in a wildcat look.

Either way, WDE!

If he can just see a linebacker we are more than halfway home.

And he probably will throw a few picks. If Sean starts throwing into double and triple coverage, we still have fundamental issues.

Agreed.

And reading defenses is part of the run game just like the passing game. It takes ability and preparation to read coverages from the LBs and secondary; but it also takes the same to read what a DE is doing against the zone read.

You compare my accomplishments in 3 years of coaching to hanging with Kate Upton on a yacht and Mia Khalifa(gross) on a private jet. I'm beyond flattered.

Little dramatic dont you think?

No, I don't think it is. On some level if a person can't feel bad for a 20 year old Auburn kid, who dreamed about being a starting SEC QB, worked his butt off for years to be successful, waited his turn for 2 years, then finally got the chance and it turned out like this, then that person might want to do some soul searching. This isn't the NFL, these are college kids.

That being said, if this type play had continued it was obvious that this was going to have to happen sooner or later. Now the decision is made and we move on. The entire stadium of 87K plus needs to get behind Sean White this Saturday.

Yup all he has to do is not throw it to the chest of defenders and I'll take that with a smile. I am hoping he has an opportunity to read the defensive end on the zone read though.

I don't expect Sean to run much unless he has to. I'd think Gus would try to go back to doing what he thought JJ could do in regards to the passing game and mix things up with the run and sweeps/reverses and other trick plays. We shall see though.

If Sean is constantly put into 3rd and 7's every 3rd down.....I just don't think he'll be successful. If they run read option and Sean never runs the ball he will be put in the same situation...

Agree. Oline better be ready!
