I've concluded that no one knows anything and this whole thing has been speculation from the jump. AU will likely hire someone that hasn't been talked about much (if at all) and there will be a lot of pissed off fans. I still don't see it being Steele, because if that were the case, I really don't know why they are waiting.

I am totally fine taking a chance on a dude if they don't have head coaching experience if they have a background as a great recruiter. Elliot and Nape have that. It's def a plus that Napier has head coaching experience but I would hope he gives up play calling duties because his offense leaves a lot to be desired.

Some very emotional reactions flying around.

We just missed on a coach who managed to lose what was effectively a bowl-type game to GUS and Bo at a neutral site with a senior, future NFL rookie season starter at QB. I know he was the popular choice, but I’m not sure we really lost as much as some think here. 

There are still other quality names on the board, if unproven, including Napier. Time to take a chance on someone with high upside.

Plan B should be Napier or Clark, someone who has shown can run a program. Not just run an effective scheme...

We rarely disagree Gwill but I like Brown.  I haven't watched much of him at WVU but I did at Troy and I didn't see that much screen passing lol.  Hell I don't know at this point it feels like we are rolling the dice with anyone.

Exactly how I feel. I’m a Napier fan because I think he’s a no nonsense guy and he can recruit. He’s done a great job at UL.

I hope #2 is a bad joke.   I love the guy as a DC but he's wreck when it comes to being a HC

His offense is the least of my worries. Not a strong enough recruiter. That's all I care about is getting the absolute best recruiter we can who is also qualified. I have watched west virginia a few times the past 2 years and it's heavy on the screen game.

Well we should definitely need to be patient now and vet as hell. Interview as you should and follow the process. The class is effed anyhow. But I do hope they got several candidates lined up
