Yea, really tired of hearing that as well. Trust me, I’ve made a lot of mistakes. However, what he has done and continues to do is disgusting. It’d be one thing if he had no issues since then, but then he goes and did what he did this past summer, sorry, he has a pattern of behavior that will not change. Also, people like you are really minimizing what he did at Ole Miss. Again, I’ve made mistakes. What he did wasn’t a mistake…

Are you talking about the recruiting violations or the escorts? Just looking for transparency

Adultery many times over is not a mistake. It's a choice.....a decision made every time it takes place. And it hurts other innocent people which is a known fact before following through with it.

Freeze isn’t my first choice, but I think anyone should be able to find redemption if they truly seek it. I’m not sure if Freeze has or not, but my biggest issue was the extreme he was carrying his disdain to for Freeze by saying he would be completely through with Auburn if we hired Freeze.

Your sin is a whole lot prettier than his sin. Got it.

Yea, and I’m ok with that. It sucks, but I just can never root for someone like him and like I said I have my grad school to root for anyways, I’ll be fine…

No point in debating ethics in a forum.  I’ve always maintained that even if you could stomach freeze, kirby and saban would negative recruit him to death.  It’d be Petrino ugly. No other school wants him, it’s living in the distant past, it’s settling. IMO The whole concept is small and depressing.

Freeze ain’t happening. Will never get approval from Dr. Roberts, let it go. Also, hypothetically, do you and others realize how easy it would be to recruit against Auburn if he ever was the coach? You think we suck now, all any coach would have to do is bring up his past and it’s over. Come on, you guys can’t even think logically…

Agreed with this take. Not possible to recruit worse than Harsin, but yeah, it would be difficult to overcome the negative recruiting.

they all cheat. we cheat. saban cheats. kirby cheats and is more brazen about it. do i want him to cheat? no! but he is an exceptional motivator. and instead of cheating at liberty he appears to be doing more with less. it is the other crap i worry about.and then i i realize he and the dude from bama are not the only ones that have never hired hookers. hell many coaches have been sleeping with students. but the harassment thing i cannot get over. he would need to handle that somehow where he gets that behind him and does nothing to make auburn look bad hiring him. i do believe in second chances but i would keep him on a short leash.

Gotcha. I just had a different take in what you are calling “harassment thing”. What I read was that the individual posted a public tweet publicly putting down Liberty’s AD (for which is completely allowed by twitter). At that point Freeze responded to that tweet (publicly as I understand it) that he supported his AD. If what I read was correct (I have no idea if the information I read was correct or not and am not even aware of how twitter works). Showing public support for his boss (his support was definitely described as “since he has been at Liberty “) is not accurately describe harassment (sexual or otherwise). In transparency though, I do not support him as being hired as our coach as I have stated in my posts in the past. Apologize for my wordy response.

The paying sex for minors issue…

I am not aware that was proven that the escorts were for recruits or himself. As I remember the Escorts were contacted when he was traveling. Would seem logical if escorts were for recruits, it would have been in Oxford but not impossible in recruits home area. I would think that would have constituted illegalities rather than just inappropriate use of phone (which is what they actually listed as firing basis at the time).

he told a woman who was sexually assaulted that his friend did not do that. now if he is right then ok. but if he is wrong then it looks real bad and auburn would end up paying for it. for the record freeze is not my guy but i believe in forgiveness and redemption like good christians are supposed to is all. but if they choose him i will support him as long as he keeps his nose clean.

I think Liberty hired him after he resigned from Baylor.

Aside from the cam stuff, it’s amazing how he went to UF as a big name. Major recruiting advantages there. And totally crashed and burned.

He actually did quite well at Florida. Won 10,11, then 8. What got him was the rumor that he hated recruiting so when his recruiting numbers did not climb high enough, they moved on.

With Cohen I think you gotta reset the board a bit. Most of his hires at State were off the grid types. And he is apparently not one to get strong armed at all, so that makes it seem less likely that the typical candidates we hear about who the boosters like are hired.

He could still hire Freeze or Grimes I guess, but it would probably be on his own doing since he doesn't like to get strong armed.

This is not the first time I’ve seen this referenced. Cohen wasn’t MSU’s AD until 2016, Mullen was HC there 2009-2018. What am I missing?

So Jackson State has him locked in to that 500K lifetime contract?

That's not it. He went to JSU to prove something. Has he proved it yet? To himself?  Nobody else knows the answer to that. One thing we do know is that it's not about money. Nobody, AU included, can offer him as much money as he's already making away from coaching. There will have to be some other motivation but right now his motivation is all about HBCUs.
