Seems like no matter what, it is best to pursue a HC who doesn’t use Twitter.

The man has a history of making stupid decisions.

Busted paying players. Busted using school resources ordering escorts. Accused of making inappropriate remarks to high school girls. Dm(s) to a woman involved in a sexual assault case defending someone involved in it.

If he comes to AU and it backfires on the university it won't be Freeze's fault.

Any leader with 1/10000th of a brain should be able to see how the AU Family united behind Cadillac…and if anyone could see that and then think it’s a good idea to go hire someone as divisive as Freeze needs to fired on the spot…and the AU fan base should leave the stands empty until they have a respectable person at the helm

You are exactly right. And, no, I don't think Caddy should be hired as permanent HC. But we have seen that unity makes a difference. You just can't hire someone like Freeze right now.

Agreed. I wouldn’t hire Caddy. This one is too important. But it should show what the AU Dan base wants. And Freeze is the farthest from that you can possibly get. If they hire him they’ll potentially tank in support like they’ve never seen before…and they’ll deserve every bit of it.

And IF Freeze has another controversy, whatever it is. Auburn will be absolutely buried. All these concerns that some fans are dismissing will be amplified and everyone will say Auburn should have known better.

Don’t know what to tell ya. Everything was in his court and he opted out last minute. I’m told it was because his kiddos are getting older and he didn’t want to upset the apple cart. They seem pretty happy and settled in Oxford. I also wouldn’t put it past Lane to sock it to the poor reporter…he’s kind of petty that way. Nevertheless a huge blow and an absolute cluster. 
 

I will always root for our Tigers and support the coach until proven otherwise. But if the hire is Freeze, I’m going to take a sabbatical.

 

Final thought: this experience taught me that my one airtight intel is absolutely worthless. We simply have no idea what Roberts and Cohen are thinking. I think we best figure out that this is the new normal.

Caddy is very emotional and upbeat. That hurt AU badly today. I want Carnell to be our head coach. He is not ready yet and it would not be fair to put this on him now. He is an Auburn man, and I love him for it. Somebody has to rebuild a program while Caddy learns the building blocks part. He's got the Xs and Os. He knows the motivation and dealing with players part. When he learns the running a program part, he will be awesome for AU. But please, give him time. He learned a helluva lot today. Saban is a serious teacher, and delivered a very serious lesson. And Carnell is a great student. I look forward to the day that Caddy takes us to new heights, but that will be in the future.

I meant to imply that Carnell simply showed how having a truly good human leading the team can bring the AU family together. It probably wasn’t clear though cause you’re the 2nd to think I meant that 🤣

I think I care about keeping Caddy on the staff even more than I care about our actual HC hire.
